02 lx vs 05 si
02 lx vs 05 si
i was at gandy down in st pete on sat and i rolled up on a kid with a blue 05 si with intake header and exhaust with my 02 lx with the same mods. i went 3 honks with the kid from 40 and stayed dead even with him till about 90mph where he pulled about a half car car on me and stayed there until about 110 i was laughing prety hard because we pulled over and he said "u didnt really think u were gonna beat me did you" and he got mad when i said his car was slow because he should have pulled alot more then a half a car. i mean come on u got 40 more hp to start out with and all those mods. my dad has a 02 si and that car is fast as crap i have beaten so meny cars with that including other si with mods new and old mabye everyone else just dosent know how to drive that car. ill post vids if anyone can tell me how
I went to prison a boy and came out a man with a sore ass!

Lucky ur right there with ur dad. Over at my house it isn't so fair, boosted ex vs C5 corvette, boosted ex vs 03 Mach 1, boosted ex vs 03 350z, and now most currently, boosted ex vs 04 V8 thunderbird.......the bird has def got to be his slowest car yet, hehe.
How to race
So the Si a more powerful car with better gear ratios only beat you by one car length. Let me let you in on a little secret. When I race people I only beat them by one or so car lengths, if they miss a shift I let off the gas partitaly then get back on it. If the guy next to me thinks he was close he will agree to a rematch and I can make some money, if I flat out beat him/her (got to be fair) then how will I make the money to pay the rent?
dude the civic si aint no big deal. It aint got much more power than our vics. While the si has a lil bit more hp, it all depends on the driver. I remember when my car was stock I saw a spanking new si on the freeway with a kid driver so I raced him and he raced me too, Im sure he grinded couple gears trying to race. I took lead sometimes while he would be following weaving in and out through traffic. The si's are fun to race especially when the driver is ignorant and thinks our vics cant take them. Once there was an si on my way home after getting food with gf and he had like 3 girls in his si with bunch of stickers exhaust/intake/headers, I was behind him while he revved it because we were on a turn, I floored the pedal and as I passed by, I mad dogged him and he wouldnt look. I love ******* especially when the other driver thinks hes the ****. After that Im sure he knew I had forced/i so he just gave up.
ANyways, what Im trying to say is that si's arent **** compared to our vics, if not they are the same. The only thing Im worried about is a modded type-s

old news but here you go.
This is the thread. http://www.7thgencivic.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=188385
The dates are the slip were off but if you read around post#42 you'll see I have several witnesses and also verification of the dates being printed wrong.
I would have ran high 14's if I had some more practice and with cooler weather. But I only had one shot with my new mods before I left the country.

Yeah I might not win, but I like a nice close race. Just too bad we are so far away. I need to get dynoed and weighed when I get back. I can't be putting down more than 110-115 if that.

There seems to be some "talk" floating around in this thread, that are misconceptions at best.
A stock ex can run a 15.8 at best. A stock Si (the egg) can run about a 15.7 at best. So a stock EX and Si are very close but the Si will still pull all day from a roll. lx/dx will have a slightly harder time than the ex.
a 6th gen Si can run a 15.3. And if you ran a 2000 Si with i/h/e and won, then you ran a sh*tty driver. You still won, but he had the faster car.
Obviously with your 15.1 you should be able to beat a stock 7th gen Si no problem.

Everything I've seen on their official timeslip list on ephatch.com and from what i've read on forums, I've never seen a stock 7th gen Si get better than a 15.6. If you can point me to timeslips that show otherwise for a bone stock ep hatch, please do, cuz i'd definitely like to confirm it!!
And if your friend can't hit 14.7-14.8 with his i/h/e 6th gen Si, then he isn't a good driver.
Not saying that you didn't beat him, I believe that.
