nice weather makes everyone feel "spirited"
In the short drive to my girlfriend's house last night, I got more racing action in a single trip than I actually care to have.
Right after merging onto the freeway, I had a cougar pacing me. He kept speeding up and slowing down. He was trying to get me to race, and eventually downshifted to wait for me to do the same. I wasn't going to race that moment, however, as traffic was too close ahead of us, and I'm not one to race in traffic. Eventually he took off, raced himself the whole 500 feet to the car in front of us, and threw his hazards on.
Later, the freeway went down to 2 lanes, and I came upon a grand am in the left lane. He was right next to an RX8 in the right lane. This is the first time I've seen the RX8 in person, and I was actually pretty impressed. They are nice lookin cars.
Anyways, for some reason these guys are going 50 in a 65. So I move over behind the RX8, and traffic is starting to back up behind us. Why these guys are going so slow is beyond me??
Finally the freeway turns back into 3 lanes with the 3rd one being added on the right. I move over, and start to go around, and the RX8 tries to take off! So I floor it, and once I'm ahead of him I move over and then into the left lane. He never passes me again.
However, this has drawn the attention of a mustang GT (pre 99). He sits behind me for a bit, so I move over so he can pass on the left. His passenger is staring at my car like a stoned monkey out the window. His friend downshifts and starts doing this, jerky, flooring it motion, trying to get me to go. I could hear he at least had exhaust.
I downshift my car, and he takes off early without signaling any kind of start. So I floor it, and pull quite easily actually. From 65-100mph I pulled a couple cars on him. The new 99+ GT are definitely faster than the previous version.
Fun night, but more attention than I'm used to getting. Maybe it was because I had the top down in 40 degree weather.

yea yesterday was really nice here too about 53ish.. I didnt have anyone try to race me, but plenty of people were out.. everyone seemed to be going 5-10mph faster than usual(which is about 5 over) I was beside this... hmmm 60yr old or so man in a sedan who was doin about 48-50 in a 35... heh...
oh yea, and of course all the idiots were out.. the ones who dont relaize that a 3way stop means SOMEONE DOESNT STOP. and the ones who dont know what a GREEN ARROW means because the RED LIGHT confuses their small minds.
