Me Vs 6thgen Si**Update on post #22***
Well, now i have a better idea of just how quick my civic is now. When we were putting my turbo kit on, i met this guy with a pretty hooked up 6thgen Si. I tried racing him once before i met him when i was near stock but he wasn't intrested, which i can't blame him for. Anyways, about 8 (EST) tonight, he stopped by my place of work to see the final product. We were talking and whatnot and i was like, "hey, wanna go for a quick run?" He was like, "yeah, sure, if you want." He's running I/H/E and cams. So we went out and got on highway 70. Got to a stop light and turned around. I was in 1st at about 10mph, letting him get beside me. I waited for him to jump first, and as soon as he did, i layed on it WOT! Instantly spooled and we were off. I spun all through 1st, and what seemed like all through 2nd. We were pretty dead even with me spinning. As soon as i shifted in 3rd, i had FULL traction and i started to pull. I pulled a few good amount of car lengths, and kept pulling. I dunno if he shut down prematurely but he was in my rearview mirror. I shut down at about 95. We then got back onto our main street and were at a light, windows down, and i asked, "Quick?" We were running maybe the same amount of hp, but i had the advantage with much more torque.
This was @ 9psi
He says his car runs 14.6s, so i guess i'm pretty low 14s.
*and yes, to anyone that asks, yes, i've put 500+ miles on the new ACT clutch already before today*
I told him about the boards, and that i would post our race.

Ya I was wondering about that. Stock Si has around 140whp, i/h/e and cams isn't gonna raise that too much, and 14.6 is a bit hard to believe. I think he has more mods that aren't being mentioned. Any cam gears (a must with cams), or fuel tuning? Good story tho.

Stock 6th gen Si run like 15.4-15.6 somewhere around there...just i/h/e & cams isn't shaving a second off his time, on that i call
Good kill though, they're still quick cars

actually no he's right. i can back that up too. i ran 14.78 in my old 6th gen si with just i/h/e (on average i'd run 14.8-14.9 on good days). a good driver in a 6th gen Si can hit low 15's stock. I had a 15.2 stock. (averaging 15.3-15.4 on decent days)

it might have been 15.3 stock. i know my best with i/h/e was 14.78. i had a friend who had one with i/h/e also and he ran a 14.7 as well.
i might have had a 15.3 stock (it was like 5 years ago....) But the B16A2 responds very well to mods.

it has to be a driver thing.
(from past experince)
Actually the sI is a mid - high 15 sec car. After the drivetrain lost, I/H/E wouldnt possible get you back to 160whp and not even close 130wtrq, also depending on the cams... i say that's a bit of a stretch too. At best, possibly a 14.9, to a very low 15 constant.

with i/h/e, the 6th gen Si is a high 14 second car (14.7) with the best drivers. but high 14's to 15 flat should be constant.
if someone does worse than that with a 6th gen Si they either need to improve their driving skills, or they are at a track with bad traction, hot temps, etc.

*Update*
Talked to the guy with the 6thgen si on AIM. Comes out that Phantasm Motor sports had his cams out of time when they installed them, so he was running out of time when we went for that run friday night. We'll run again soon and i'll post the results. So comes out i may not be in the low 14s

I give my man props!
