do you think its worth fixin up a d17 (internally)?
i have an 03 civic lx, i wanna run a n/a motor. i looked into gettin a b18 gsr, i know it can fit but i don't think it would fit too well. reason i ask is because well first off the k20a is too damn much and second, i know some guys that work at a shop here dealin with import engine internals. so is in your opinion would a d17 be worth it as far as reaching around 180hp?

anything is possible.
but swap would be cheaper/easier/more practical/more reliable. the only edge a n/a d17 would have (if you got to 180hp and i doubt you would) would be uniqueness

check your state laws on engine swaps
if you have an 01 civic
you might be able to use an 01 integra motor
It useually has to the same year or newer for the swaps

I seriously don't think it's worth it. It is not a performance engine in anyway. In fact, it was engineered to be a very fuel efficient engine.
Go for a K20 or a K20 powered car and modify that because that will have a lot more potential and it is a performance oriented engine.

i know someone that would do a b-series swap for 7thgens but even he says its pointless when you can swap a k and it is worth building a d17 if u plan to run a 75 shot or higher or boosting it. Or if u have cash k20a2/turbo
