Rep Power: 376 this race was earlier this week before tonight's snow storm.
an SRT4 is not faster than an S2000. they are similar in performance, and it is essentially a driver's race, but the S2000 has a decent advantage as it tends to pull on the neon after 45mph. I have yet to see on the SRT4 forums a stock 215hp neon SRT4 hit any better than 13.8. I will drive my S2k down the 1/4 mile faster than most, if not all, stock neon SRT4 owners around here.
and turbos better than everything else in a street start? does the word turbo lag mean anything to you? if anything, a street start HURTS a turbo's performance.
And as for me laying out BS, get a grip. I've been on these forums for a damn long time, as well as a member on S2ki.com. i'm not some BS'ing rice boy who has watched too much fast and furious. don't insult my integrity by implying otherwise.
and quoting mag times only makes you look foolish. mag times are a generalization of a car's performance at BEST. the S2000 has a best recorded time of 13.66 in stock form, myself even hitting 13.7 stock. if the track conditions are optimal, i wont see anything over 13.9@103.

Rep Power: 788 not to mention s2000man01 is a better driver than most. Do you think a young teen in the srt really even knows how to drive it properly?

and by the way, the driver in the neon SHOULD have kept up with me a bit closer than he did. FWIW i've had a tougher fight from 2 stock neon srt's before.

Rep Power: 286 i know you all flame srt-4's but for a 20g car with 220 hp you can buy upgrades to put it at 280 for 1500 bucks and theres another stage 3 upgrade putting it to 360 hp so hate all you want and tell me that its gonna be broken down on the side of the road all you want but too many people on this site just hate on everything
im estimating the stage 3 will go for 3000 to 3500 g

even your own post about starting late and its affect on a race would support my theory that the civic certainly ran more than 8psi.
8psi isn't putting D17 7th gens into 100+ mph traps. which is generally a good indicator of what the car does from a roll.

8 psi can put d17 into 100+ mph traps easy. check out Jetblu01's time

plus the car is not tuned and he still has little room to improve his 60 foot time with street tire. As bgoetz said, a well tuned and good driver 8 psi civic can beat s2000 easy.

he's saying it's a driver's race. i'm saying it'd be closer, but the S2000 would still be faster.
i guess we'll leave it til someone can prove it. any 8psi turbo'd 7th gens wanna run it?

what has she run in the 1/4 mile? and if you tell me she hasn't run, then you have no way to judge how good a driver she really is.

Rep Power: 376 I was stock at the time. And unfortunately I do not have the original time slip. This was actually back in 2001 when I had my first S2000. the most recent I have is from October 2002 when I was running 14 flats all day long on shitty 2.24 60' times. When my 60' is at 2.0-2.1 (where it should be) that's when I'm into the 13's. And this is also from when it was stock. stock tires are potenza S-02's.
by the way, both of my runs were the 14 flat times, and the other times were run by a stock mustang GT 5 speed.

Rep Power: 266 You should've tooken the lead from the start. I know the s2k is better than that. Even though I have nos I still think you could take me any day, but dont say I wont keep up. Ive kept up with 4 door g35, but it was a girl driver(sigh). Im pretty sure that if you all launched at the same time that you would have tooken the srt and civic with ease.

We managed to come upon a light with a silver 7th gen sitting in the far right lane. I was in the left, and the neon was in the middle.
Waiting for the light, I gave a little rev to see if the guy was gonna go. He didn't respond so I was like... hmm. The light turned, and no tire squeal. All 3 of us kinda went off the light no one really flooring it. Kind of anticipating, the neon punched it at 15mph. I hit it at the same time and off we went. The neon took a little bit of a lead, and then I heard a PSHHHH. But not from the neon.... it was from the 7th gen! lol.
To about 60mph I pulled on the neon and the 7th gen took the lead. Into 3rd, and we kept at it. I continued to pull on the neon, and the 7th gen was still pulling on me. lol.
By about 90, I was about a car ahead of the neon, and the 7th gen had 2 cars on me but was losing ground. Shutting down at 105, I was pulling on the neon, and the 7th gen had lost a car and was my front bumper was very close to his back bumper.
Good race. 4 cylyinder honda turbo > 4 cylinder honda N/A > turbo charged walmart shopping cart.
So... I'm hoping the 7th gen is a member here?
