Where do i start???? Today, I'm chill'n, heading to work downtown at night since thats the time i work and i always take the westside highway...whatever, nothing special. But today, ha ha, i was challenged!!!!!!!!!!! A bullsh!t a$$ 
Toyota Matrix XR. I'm entering the HW and i'm driving a bit slow cuz i need a wheel alignment but the next thing u know, the matrix jumps in front of me and puts his flashers on. I was like WHAT!!!!! I KNOW THIS FOOL DIDN'T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Homeboy had florida plates and i said to myself i'ma welcome his a$$ to NY wit a a$$ whip'n 
Anyway, i floor the sucker (i have AT) and we side by side and to my surprise it was doing pretty damn good and i was like oh ****...don't tell me he gonna hand my a$$ over to me!!!! i ended up braking since a car turned into my lane amd he flew by me. after a few cars i caught up with him and i was right on his a$$. he saw me and he move over and bam, we were at it again, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100!!! and somehow that fool ended up right behind me.. He was on top of my bumper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was crazy how close he was. He was catch'n all the drift!!!! Finally he made an attempt to pass me cuz cuz noboby was in that lane and he couldn't pass me!!!!!!!!! I was doing 110 or so and i felt my car top'n out and i was no!!!!!!!!!!!! but he couldn't pass me. but wait, it ain't over. as he was try'n to pass me, out of nowhere a 300zx zooms pass the both of us!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was like where the heck he come from???? so finally i started to slow down and the matrix flew by me cuz the HW was entering the city and it ended there. I just did reseach and according to what i found, the matrix xr produces a 180 HP. don't ask me why i was able to own him there. Oh wells!!!!!!!!!!! i'm getting rid of my civic for a stick vic!!!!!!!! then, i ain't doing no cosmetic work cuz i want to boost that sucker. turbo on a AT civic ain't worth it to me. i may just do the swap if i could get a good deal!!!!. I'm hating AT more and more each day but hey, what can i do.

1) It sounds like you were racing in traffic. which is stupid enough.
2) a matrix XR does NOT have 180 hp. that's the matrix xrs. and no your AUTO civic wouldn't even come close.
3) I'm pretty sure a matrix xr even auto would outrun an auto civic. I have a 2002 auto civic and I've lost to an auto xr that my friend had as a rental lol

Rep Power: 0 It wasn't just random cars passing like normal!!!! That guy must have been like "let me show these fools what power really is"!!!!!!! He was out!!!!!!!!!!! wierd thing is racing is contagious cuz even these 2 SUV's started acting up going all fast next to me and the matrix. this happened like at 10:30 at night. not much taffic. some pretty good clear straight aways.

corolla ce s and le, matrixs except xRs have the 1zzfe engine
corolla and martrix xRs have the 2zzfe which is a celica engine...
I walk all over d series in my 1zzfe <more torque>
I only have simple bolt ons on that thing...
cant catch modded B series. I can keep up with a stock 99-00 si OK till vtec.
If I raced my civic my civic would destroy it...

the 1zzfe is made to produce more torque and a smoother "family car" type of ride where was the 2zzge was made to produce higher hp at a high rpm for a "sporty" race car style ride. It's basically a toss up of what you need/want - Driveability or Power.

It has always been this way and I suggest you start getting used to it and reply back with more intelligent and appropriate responses if you wanna remain a member here. I'm hating AT more and more each day but hey, what can i do.Matrix XR's are 130hp, not 180 Mr. E-thug. And the AWD version is lonly like 123hp. And you can be sure it was auto also. A Matrix XRS, the 170hp one, is only stick and will own you, it has a detuned Celica GT-S engine. The XRS and RSX 5-speed is a drivers race...
