Raced a rx7

I really don't know why I put myself through this Raced a 94-96 rx7 I got a shitty launch and boged. Which only made my a$$ beating look worse. I new I would lose, but fvckinA. Might be time for a different car

Yuup, had like 260 crank or something. I have a friend with a base RX-7 with only Apexi filter, Apexi WS exhaust, and boost controller and it still was crazy fast.

I don't think it was the sh*tty launch that made you lose *grin

I doubt that even a Civic running 14psi of boost could keep up w. a stock FD.

Well, stock for stock, a Civic Si 6thgen may keep up with a NA FC from the 80's.

you sure about that? i believe catalyst had 16psi or something close to it and he was running low 13's maybe even 12's? so if a stock fd is running high 13's then why cant a 14psi civic beat it?

I think it was low-mid 13s?

Well, if I'm not mistaken Catalyst's tranny died on him at some point, so whilst you out-accelerate the FD, you'll slowly pull ahead and then there will be a horrible sound as your tranny dies and then the FD will slooowly pull on you, heh.

Arith has a little shameless behaviour in the past
FDS are light and turbo = danger for other competition. They share a 50/50 chasis weight and that rotary is no joke. To bad the rx8 couldnt carry the candle, more like it burned out after production of the rx7.

thats because a tt rx8 would cost way too much out of the factory

they are now workin on a turbo rx-8 and since the rx-8 is doing pretty well, mazda is considering bringing the rx-7 back. They still sell the rx-7 in japan and austrailia.

Yeah, the old model RX-7s didn't even break 150HP I think? And they weren't extremely light, but they did handle really well.

The new RX-8s handle alright and look purdy, but the rotaries they have are proving difficult to pump a lot of boost into. Speculation is that Mazda will have a supercharged application.

last night on Conant right before it turns into reynolds (from the light before dussel). No it was not snowing last night I know better. This snow sucks though I still have not changed my rims, but I need to. That car was fast, it was red not the gray one that Aron at Pure Tunning has, same year though.

Yes, the RX-8 is proving difficult to boost...but the superchargers are out, and Greddy's turbo is due at the beginning of the year, as well as Speed Force Racing which produces 350 whp. Also, the RX-8 is said to handle better than the FD in certain situations...but the FD has much higher limits than the RX-8...although the RX-8 is much easier to push hard.
