Raced a Magnum R/T...
I'm sitting at a light and a red Magnum R/T pulls up. The beast sounds mean. Knowing I'll get my butt kicked, I revved up my hampsters. He did not reply. As soon as the light turned green, though, I heard an unholy growl and screeching rubber. My wee little hamptsers were running in their wheels as fast as they could, but to no avail. He was about 10 car lengths by the time I hit 60mph. I want one.

He got me right off the line. I didn't think he wanted to race. I didnt really want to either, because I knew I'd get smoked, and I did. I think they run like in the mid 14s.

Yes, key words are "wolves in dodge DAKOTA clothing." Someone corrected him saying I raced a wagon and not a truck, so he asked me if it was the truck or the wagon. Or lets just ask him what he was talking about, shall we?
I honestly dont care, but if I'm wrong then I'm wrong, sorry
. I was thinking about the little older dakota truck that has the magnum engine. The model that has the 5.9L. A person at my job has a blue one and I couldve sworn it said magnum r/t. Well anyway he has even bigger ***** for trying the stationwagon too since thats what it was. LOL

Dakota R/T will NOT take a Trans-Am.
Car-Stats.com Report for 2001 Dodge Dakota 5.9 R/T
Obtained from Web February, 2001
0-60: 6.5 Transmission: Unknown
1/4 Mile: 15
1/4 Speed: 91
Car-Stats.com Report for 2000 Pontiac Trans Am Conv
Obtained from MT June, 2000
0-60: 5.5 Transmission: Manual
1/4 Mile: 13.9
1/4 Speed: 102
This is a convertible. A coupe would run slightly quicker.
And face it. Our 127hp Civics are slow, slow, slow cars. It's not a big deal that a 340hp/390ft-lbs car would beat one by 10 car lengths.

Hahaha... I still think of that guy asking if that things got a Hemi from those commercials...
Anyway, Mopar performance is very hard to beat in a straight line.

Copied from Truck Trend:
Feeding power through a 46RE four-speed automatic to the Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires (P255/55R17), the R/T posted a 0-60 time of 7.08 sec, passing through the quarter mile in 15.50 at 88.72 mph.
And yes the 5.9L comes ONLY with an auto. Here have a link: http://www.trucktrend.com/roadtests/...un/index1.html

i lived in Monterey, CA for a couple years (home of Pebble Beach, Laguna Seca, and some really fukcin bada$$ cars)...last year, during the Ferrari Classic at Pebble Beach, i was sitting at a stop light and a showroom-fresh retina-etching yellow Diablo rolls up beside me...so of course i roll down my windows, blast my system, and start masturb...um, i mean, REVVING on him...he's 100% ignoring the $hit out of me and my little 1.7L's 6800 RPM screams for mercy, but the second the light turns green, he was on it...if you've never had the pleasure of hearing the roar of a redlining V12 Lamborghini dump it's clutch and smoke the $hit out of some brand new rubber and then proceed to scream to about 140 mph through a 35 mph tunnel, well then you just haven't lived...
everybody knows the best part of a having a slow car is getting wasted by fast ones...
