Made one last trip to the track before my 4 month trip to the dessert

Well I found out two days ago that I'll be taking a 4 month vacation to the desert in 3 weeks. So I decided to make one last trip to the track.
Same setup as before. I was planning to run again after christmas with BFG's but can't do it now. No 14's this year
Couldn't beat 15.7, but I trapped a little faster and pulled a 2.298 60ft on another run.
Here's the slips.
Kinda hard to make out.

15.764@87.67 with 2.298 60ft

15.711@89.31 with 2.32 60ft

Both runs against a GSR with intake, ITR cams, Skunk2 Intake manifold, exhaust. His best was a 15.3. Another GSR ran the same.
Type R's running low 15's, a Scion TC ran 15.9(never got a chance to race him, damn).
Everyone was running slow today.
I was happy that I my little d17 was running 15's and cars with almost double the horsepower were running the same. Dissipointed that I didn't get that 15.5 I was shooting for though. Oh well.

Not the 15.5's you were hopin for, but still some good times. If you're consistent, you'll beat a lot of cars that SHOULD be faster. Once again, nice times.

thanks, but I may have one more crack at it before I go. I can't leave the country without at least running a low 15. We'll see.

Hey what about upgrading your tranny?

Would putting a lighter flywheel, lighter stronger clutch and short shifter help you shifter faster, and reduce clutch slip?

That is exactly what I'm planning on next. I gotta a little simple bolton which will be onthe way as soon as the guy calls me back. It will shave close to 20lbs off the drivetrain.
If I can get it in before I leave I'll run at the track one last time.
