can we beat a crx?
Just asking because i raced a crx yesterday on freeway and that thing can hang, first time racing a crx. We were side by side till the whole time 50mph-110mph. i don't know is crx has a swap motor or just plain ol 1.5L motor, but i never thought it would be that fast. I have I/h/tp/E(tp=testpipe). When the crx floor it there some kind of smoke coming out from exhaust and it smell like burning clutch.

when i had my i/e i beat a hooked up one on 91S one time. dunno what hed had tho, i downshifted from 5th to 3rd and pulled on him. just my .02
my friend's 90 crx with about 3k worth of engine work and performance parts cant come close to my 04 ex turbo, and that was without my fuel system upgrade. mod for mod tho..I think it all depends on wether the crx driver can catch traction off the line fast enough. too light.

I raced my friend's CRX with integra GS motor in it, he owned me so bad..lol those things can be QUICK.....

people were responding with what mods can do or can't do for a crx. i gave the example of my friend's jrsc crx for the simple fact that we all know how quick an S2000 is from a roll, so you can now judge about how quick an SC'd crx would be from a roll. therefore the crx he raced probably did not have FI, which is something one might guess he had because of the healthy smoke coming from the exhaust. (often a sign of running too rich, which some do with FI to prevent detonation, or because of an untuned aftermarket fuel system)
if you'd like me to hold your hand while you wipe your ***, i can do that too.

This is just general conversation about CRXs. There is no need to start a bitching match here. I think S2000man was only making a statement about what a CRX can do with a little power behind it and pretty much everyone knows that JRSCs are not the most impressive around so therefore the point is, the CRX is a good performer for the most part because of it's light weight.

hence the point of my post, stating that he probably wasn't FI'd, drawing knowledge from my own experiences.

I almost got beat by a crx a few weeks ago. There was smoke coming out of his tail pipe and he had a very high idel. We stayed prety even the whole way. I'm shure if his car was kept in good condition he would have killed me.
What color smoke was it coming from both crx's (the one mentioned earlier and the one you just said) Could be burning oil (most likely) or just running extremely rich with S2000 man said.

Rep Power: 380 those stock crx's with the 1.6 DZ engines can hang with a 7th gen. it would be a drivers race. my neighbor has the DZ engine just sitting in the garage now. we working finishing up the wiring and cluth setup for his JDM H22 swap, and the finishing touches on his wide body kit. now that car will with out a doubt smoke any 7th gen. im goning to have pics up here soon. were thinking 13's with the H22 on a 50 shot and vtec controller.

On the way home that stock looking Hyundai Elantra with 3 goofy looking guys trying to race me. I'm around 65-70mph on 3rd far lane and those guy on far left lane, keeping paste with me headlight to headlight for 45 second. I like wtf and, i think they trying to rev there engine but i can't heard shxt because my exhaust and music. When i turn my head to see what going on they just laught and speed up i like
, they slow back down and keeping paste with me again i like wtf. Then i got scared and muahaha downshift 4th gear and step it my car jump so fast still like they are standing. I think they are trying to keep up but everytime i pull like cars length from them. After couple sencond i give up and slow back down they do fly by on me and zooming lane left and right like there no tomorrow with cars insight .
