K20 TURBO VS. Z06 time slip
I decided to take my car out for some "shake down" passes tonight. The announcer at the track calls my car out and tells me a corvette z06 wants to run me.
We finally get lined up. Both of us do our burnouts. I let him stage first and make him wait for me. I'm trying to get him to lose his concentration at the line. i finally stage, as the lights go down, rev it up to 5k rpms, then bam... I'm off turbo fully spooled and suprisingly have traction. Looking at the corner of my eye I've got a one car lead. I'm holding him off till 4th gear@ 7600 rpms. My car backfires and ends up bogging. I quickly shift it to 5th and try to hold the corvette off as we pass the finish line. It was to close to tell if I won or not. As I get to the person who holds the timeslip I see she hands me the white time slip (winner get white time slip). It was then I realized that I just barely won. Considering the back fire and having to basically roll to the end of the track. I was ecstatic. Its times like this, that I know i did the right thing by going turbo.
CLIFF NOTES: TURBO CIVIC BEATS CORVETTE Z06
Heres the timeslip. I'm the silver car. Notice the 1/8 mile. 7.9. Which means if my car didn't bog, it would have been good for high 11's.

man never would believe a civic would have a chance against a base corvette moreless a z06. You must be running slicks.

Good run man. I wonder who was driving that Z? I used to go to Fayetteville very often. Had the Dark Green (looks black) C5 coupe with red stripes. Ran 11.7@119 NA and 10.98@125 on a 100 shot. I know your car and it is very impressive. If you could get those 60ft times down (which is damned near impossible) your car would be nasty. I think that I recall seeing you run a higher MPH when I saw the car. What is your best to date? Are you still going to the track?

wassup man. I remember seeing your car at the track. This run was against chief dave awhile back. Best run was 11.5 and 11.6 on a freaky friday in nov.I've been having clutch problems lately trying to get the power to the ground. So its only been running 16psi till I get enough money to get a twin disc clutch.
I havent been at the fayetteville track in a month. I'm currently about to put my car in storage for a year, due to deployment. I've basically been browsing horsepower junkies web board and seeing the crazy times they've been running. Since I cant go to the track anymore. It sucks that I cant go to freaky friday this month.
Good luck with your vette. I thought your were trying to sell it?

Damn and I thought 4 months away from my car and racing was bad. A whole year, you must be Army? At least you'll have a pile of cash to spend when you get back. Good luck man. Be safe.

I think icebergslim is putting down something like 520hp @ 24 psi. I think that is what it is from his videos. I watch them everyday thank you for my hope with my vic. You are god.
