so i was on my way home from work and i saw this celica gts ahead it had exhaust and im pretty sure it had a intake by the sound. I got a ex coupe 5 spd with injen cai and greddy evo 2. So i pull up next to him and rev at first he didnt seem interested but he gave in, i wanted to see how fast the celi gt-s is i hear they r fast but some people doubt them. So anyway i was in 5th and down to 3rd. We go and all of a sudden he jumps like almost a car on me and kept pullin, the gts has vvtli which i believe is like hondas vtec but i heard it kik in and man it is loud and it seems to pull hard. I have a new respect for thos cars man.

GTS owns at higher RPMS. I used to have an Auto GTS, 2002. Man, that car was doggish low RPMS, but man, once i got rolling, it would pull from 5,500 all the way to that crazy 7,500 red line. They have a 2zz engine. The GT's have 2FE engine.

those celica's with lift are pretty fast in the upper RPM range

Rep Power: 274 both cars are nice, celica has less hp but is about 300lbs lighter as well so it kidna evens out, i like the style of the celica it looks means and i prefer the interior, although i think the type s has a little smoother ride

Rep Power: 339 The Celica GT-S had a much better braking distance than the RSx-S..... many ppl dont recall or care to notice. It's a shame that car is going to be gone.... too bad it was deemed a girls car after they took away that turbo model.

Rep Power: 0 yeh around here in georgia. it is really looked down upon to have a new Celica. even a GTS. They are seen so much as chick cars. New eclipses are too even though I wouldn't mind having one because they are nice cars in my opinion.

Rep Power: 274 yea the gt does have the 1zz, and yea some people do think its a girls car but if u notice the girls only drive auto gt's. A gts 6 speed is def not a girls car. just my 0.2 cents

Rep Power: 0 Hey AZNCHINKSTA I've got an '04 Civic EX 5-Speed with Injen CAI, and Greddy EVO 2 Exhaust...I know he should have beaten me, but I promise he could not catch me...maybe he got scared going 125..who knows.
