Rep Power: 0 2001 prelude SH
raced 2001 prelude SH with exaust tip and won twice..
first time had a good launch and kept probably almost a car length lead wasnt paying attention all the way..at about 80 mph i turned my hazards so then he slowed down en i switched in his lane...
2nd time
i got him by proly a car again then when i switched into third gear i put my hazards up again but he would've passed me..
u guys proly wont believe me but ive been driving my car for years now and hes only had his car for four months so that could've been the differential..
oh well
soo long folks,

Rep Power: 314 Yes, those things are heavy.... but with a 2.2 L, more torque, real VTEC more top end.... I really hope you post your mods.... has to be more than I/H/E....

Rep Power: 319 Im not here to defend the guy but what is with all the BS?
Give a bad driver any car and it will be in the 18's
Hell I saw an SRT-4 run a 17.7, he spun all through 1st, with his tach jumping all over the place he had no clue when to shift into 2nd. He got about 1/2 way down the track before he shifted. Ive seen videos of 2003 Cobras running 14's to 15s all cause the driver has no clue what they are doing.
Back when I had my Mazda I beat one of the high end 13 sec Mercedes due to driver error on his part. I hung even with a modded LS1 due to him bouncing off the rev limiter a little while before shifting, He didn't take off until he got into 3rd gear.
A single mishift/hesitation/slow shift is enough to add a couple seconds to your time slip.
I also raced a 2001 Prelude with the Jackson Racing supercharger and he didn't pull me one inch, this was in the Mazda BTW. Preludes are not as fast as everyone makes them out to be.

A Prelude maybe heavy, but the H22 puts out much more torque than the D17, plus the Prelude has a single stage vtec on both the intake and exaust side there for producing much more power than a D17 could with out boosting.

Rep Power: 339 as far as I know, the fastest n/a d17 on this site runs a 15.8x 1/4 mile. stock preludes run 15 flat, and quicker if it's got mods (like they said, exhaust ... and probably intake). Unless the guy STALLED, then there is no way no how they the civic could have won. Preludes are not slow, they're virtually the same speed as an rsx type s ... if you say that the guy doesn't know how to drive, that means he either WASN'T RACING or he didn't know how to put his foot to the floor
I could wait a second before shifting into the next gear and still beat an n/a d17 with a modded prelude
list your mods, idiot. prelude has 18's and your car probably has 17's ... not that much difference

i watched this show where this guy with a SS Prelude (SS= sequential sportshift) with i/h/e and AEM fuel rail and put out about 140-150 FWHP. not alotcause the fancy auto tranny sucks up tons of power....

Rep Power: 319 Like I said theres alot of things people don't take into account.
1) with a manual, argument of driver abality comes into play
2) with the sports shift, like someone said it sucks up ALOT of power. Also the one I rode in took for f*cking ever to shift. It was like
woooooooooooom shift
*crickets*
woooooooooooooooommm
