me vs. 240sx
I know this isn't really bragging rights but it's my first race since getting my car back from the shop.
So i was goin about 55 next to a 240sx when he starts to pull foward, so i naturally follow. Then i hear him rev and drop it, so i naturally follow, and drop it in too second (yes i have an auto grrrrr) and by the time i was at 80 (when i shifted) i flew by him, when i pulled up next to him at the next light he said he didn't hate civics anymore, so i figured i kinda did a good deed for civics....kinda

just little crap like cai, throttle cable tightening thingy, that resistor from ebay (i know evertyone says it doesn't work but i feel a difference), and massive weight reduction (i took out my spare tire) lol
uh, our cars have a GOOD chance of beating a stock 240 if the civic is moddified, they are really not that fast, and my friend got his dynoed with full catback, and intake, and only managed 140 at the wheels, thats not to good when your car weighs 2900lbs... so if he was stock, I would say one of our 2500lb civics would have a good chance against one. also, when I was stock, and he was stock, we raced, and he really wasnt any faster than me from a roll at all.
it's believable. just this past weekend, my wife and i were cruisin in pasadena, and an early 90's style camaro was trying to race me, and i whooped up on it badly with my 5-spd EX. of course, at the next light when i pulled up next to it again, i could hear his engine and it sounded horrible. it sounded as if it was missing badly or something. even at the take-off, he'd only be able to go a few feet, then his car would hold back, then it'd go again, then stall....very sad day for that camaro driver.

ummm sorry I don't beleive that, I was in my friends 1999 prelude and we raced S14 body 240sx and his lude pulled on it by about 3-4 cars in about 1/4 mile length. Have you ever seen an auto civic run 1/4 high 17's almost so i'm calling bs sorry.

My friend has a 1989 240sx that is bone stock except lowered. I drove it and I must say, that thing is slooooow! It's in pretty average condition for a '89, but my stock Civic will beat it any day.

today i let my friend drive my vic, he had a 92 240sx before he got his camero, and he said that mine would have eaten his 240sx, then we realized that we had 4 people and the a/c on
I don't know, stock 240sx are not fast at all... And, if his 240sx was having problems, which we don't know that it isn't, I can believe he beat him. They were also on the freeway at 60mph, the stock 240sx top end sucks. They usually don't get past 112mph after a long time getting up there. Remember the KA24 is origionally a truck engine.
