129mph and a cop.
So Im driving home the other night, and there is this long strait road before I reach my neiborhood. I get my car to 129mph -cannot get to 130, its kinda irritating. Anyway, I just put on my new suspention kit so I'm looking forward to do some serious cornering in my neiborhood. So I haul *** onto my street and jump onto the oncomming traffic lane to take my favorite turn. So I take it at about 65 and as I'm half way through the tire screaching turn I see a car that was driving right through the intersection. So I swerve so I dont totally side swipe him and he slamms on his breaks. Woops. So I just keep smashin through my neiborhood. And the guy I cut off is right on my ***! Im going like 50 through a 25!? So I just think he is just some guy pissed at me for cutting him off.
...and thats when the lights came on.
It was a freakin cop! So yeah I tell him that I was just super tired and wanted to get home yadda yadda. Thankfully he was cool. I thought he was gonna thow me on the hood for god sakes. So I got a ticket for running a stop sign and thats it. $90. hehe, i think im gonna fight it too. The judge will probably throw me in prison if he hears the cops end of the story.

It's cool that the cop let you go on that man don't get me wrong. But I suggest going to a track to let that out, you'll have a lot more fun and I gurantee it will help you be a safer driver.
I have a turbo civ and a PERFECT driving record, not even one accident. I go to the track a lot and don't see the need of speeding on the street. Do the same man it'll be worth it...

it's ok i'd leave it up for other people to see how other members look at this...
it seems as though you kinda learned from this lil thing alone, hopfully others will see the same thing

Hell, we all do it. Don't take it personally.
With all the track racing opportunities around here (at least in Nor Cal) where you can learn and hone skills, I have a hard time understanding why people put themselves and others at risk on the street.
Real racing is a freaking rush. I don't get anywhere near the thrill romping around on the street.

I've been suprized lately at the reaction to kill stories and idiot driving stories here. Suprized in a good way... because many of you guys here actually seem to get onto the bad drivers. And do so in an intelligent manner.
It's nice to hear that even tho some of you like your street, you try and take it to the track or autocross or whatever to get your thrills. Instead of the street.
high fives for those of you who do take your performance to the right venues.

Yea, charging through neighborhoods is insanely stupid... I NEVER get on my car when Im around housing simply because its extremely rude and annoying to hear a 117hp car trying to get to 7200rpm in 3rd.. and its incredibly unsafe for yourself and any other people.
If you want to test out your suspension, just do it on a freeway on/off ramp super late at night. Nobody around to hurt if you or your car should **** up.

The best that can be said is that hopefully you will drive a bit safer in the future. It only takes a moment to destroy your or someone elses life.
Leah was only 25 when someone sped through an intersection at 100+. There was nothing left of her car, the passenger seat was crushed all the way to the center of the car. Amazingly, the street racer lived with only slight injuries.
I am not trying to rant, nor put you down. I just want you to think while you drive. I am sure you don't want to kill someone. So please pay Leah's memory and all those like her with the simple respect. The respect of knowing your car can kill someone.
We all do stupid things. Those are called accidents. But when you know you should not be doing something and do it anyway, that is a gamble. Eventually you will lose.
As for me, I drive like I am driving Miss Daisy. Calm, smooth, and always looking. I get revved on at least once a week, and I try to not laugh, but rather keep looking straight ahead and mind my business. There is lots of fun at the track, you should go on an open night. The local track here has open races on Fridays. Pay 20 bucks, race anyone you want on a sactioned track. Timing slips, open lanes, and NO traffic.
Just think a bit. Peace.

driving over 25 in a naborhood is not cool in my book at all. you never know when kids will be out at night or people walking there dog or walking holding hands with there significant other (spelling = bad = im tired)
and btw i have walked around at night with friends around where i lived to just get outa the house and get some fresh air so people are out at that time

I think alot of us are guilty of speeding, but there are limits. Only time I've been going fast was on a freeway late at night with nobody on it. And even then I won't go past 100mph. What you did was plain stupid, and I'm shocked that you're not spending the night in jail for wreckless endangerment. Hope you learned something and will slow it down next time.
