Rep Power: 0 Civic vs saturn
I got a 97 civic ex about 3 months ago and am going to being modifying it with the small budget I have. So far I've got a new intake, plugs and wires.
My friend has a saturn 97 sc2 with an intake. He says he would be beat me, I don't know who would win, any ideas?
oh ya both are manuals.

Rep Power: 0 I dunno because I raced a DOHC saturn (stock) and all I have is AEM Cold Air Intake and he beat me by about 1/2 car length. Saturn bodies are not aluminum, there plastic so there pretty light. 15.3 is fast for a saturn...stock civic ex runs like 16-16.7 so I think he will beat you but not by much.

Sc2 w/o any mods, have atleast 154+ hp,
My girlfriend owns one I have driven it about 3 times for full days each, it is much faster then my civic, and its automatic (so is my civic), both are stock, it also outruns my 93' Corsica LT (automatic), which also has 154~, here is an example
This is quoted from another board:
Well, I said it would do it. I finally broke the saturn into the 9's Bone stock!
ran a 9.98@69.xx w/ a 2.30 60' on street tires.
Ok, I really want to know...Are their any other saturns that have ran in the 9's completly stock?
Thats 1/8 mile time btw, also it depends if ur friend is manual/automatic, they also either have SOHC or DOHC.

Rep Power: 0 He has the sc2 so it's the twin cam. He thinks it around 110 at the wheels give or take. I do know they're 124 hp stock at the crank.
Well this weekend we should be able to line it up and find out. I'll post the results.

Rep Power: 0 Cosworth isnt that ford? anyways the sc2's have like what 127 or 129 hp and 119 torque... have a tiny bit of parasitic tranny loss, and are really lightweight, maybe lighter than a civic.

Rep Power: 0 cosworth's motor is a 2.3 ford motor..they have been made here as a SOHC motor but made in the europe as a DOHC.....anyway cosworth's are supposed to run side by side w/ a supra.....anyone watched the "get away from stockholm"?......then you'll know what i mean....anyway back to the post......the sc2 may win for it has a way lighter body(2200lbs if am not wrong)......but you may have a chance.....

Rep Power: 0 The Saturn SC2, *the kind me and my girlfriend were driving chris* can run a 15.1 IF it was a manual, had a friend of mine run it, all stock all the way down to the airbox. Which is a nice time for something such as that car throw a few mods on, you SHOULD be able to break 14.9, which are cars take alot more work to get to

That must of been the kind of car I raced. I raced a Saturn but have no idea what kind, an older model. He had a car length on me from a 40 mph roll to about 80 when I started reeling and walking away from him, very slowly. Lol, at first I was like WTF?!?! I looked down to make sure I was in the right gear, lol. I know he had mods, at least an exhaust and intake. I could see the home made intake in his fenderwell, lol and he had lots of white smoke and a funny smell coming from his car. Spraying I assume? At that time I only had an intake. This was also in the Rsx-S.

Rep Power: 296 A 1997 Saturn SL2 weights a little less than 2400lbs, has 124HP at the crank with 122lbs Torque. If the car is well taken care of then it would probably take you.
