I was a little dissapointed, but I blame our numbers on poor traction. Not to make excuses but the track we went to you must drive through the water pit. Both our cars are stock so we weren't about to smoke our tires. Because our tires were still wet we both would just spin out forever on the launch.
Enough excuses though.
The low down.
Me= 04 Civic vp 5spd stock full interior
Wife=04 Civic ex auto stock full interor

The first time we lined up was the best. I stalled at the line, she took off and smoked me left me literally standing still. I ran like a 20 sec 1/4 she ran 17.8.
Hilarious. Felt like a dumbass!
I wasn't her only kill. She beat some guy in a new body style cougar.
She was pumped and ready to talk smack in the pits but the guy took off.
Must have been so embaressed he just left the track. Funny ****!
Not bad for her first time ever at the track.
I was very proud of her.
I was a little dissapponted in myself because i didn't get that 16.5 I was hoping for. If I had dry tires maybe it would have happened. Oh yeah I only had 750 miles on my car too. Prolly should have waited a litlle longer.
Oh well.
Always next time.
Time to start buying upgrades and do some weight reduction.
Enough excuses though.

Rep Power: 0 your car is a lot lighter than hers and you have the non vtec engine with less hp, but then hers is automatic and your manual...so i think it should have been yours or at the least a drivers race... work on your launches and reaction times and you should find yourself in the mid 16s if your a good driver... shift at the optimum rpms which have been covered before...it should help... glad ya had fun

Rep Power: 0 i had only 750mi on my VP
no vtec in mine 115hp sohc
Manual said 600mi for break in.
my wife had over a thousand mi on her ex
yeah getting traction was a bitch.
Like I said our tires were wet from driving through the burnout pit.
There was no way to avoid it. To get on the track you had to drive right through it. I wasn't about to roast my tires. I heard that is only good for slicks anyway.
If we had dry tires I believe I would have gotten that mid 16 i was looking for and my wife low 17's.
We are going to try the other track near by in a couple weeks.
I heard it was better and you don't have to drive through the burnout pit.
So we'll see.

Rep Power: 0 keep practicing dude. That's till better than my firdt time to the track. BTW it's not the 'no vtec' that's hurting your car's hp -it's the shitty exhaust system.

I don't even think I was up to 200 the first time I did... Looking back it was prob not the best idea.
