01 Teg Type R Vs. 02 Civic ex Turbo
I have a 2002 Civic EX and in the next week or so, I'm going to buy a turbo for it. I'm going to get the T25 or the T3, not 100% sure which one yet. But my friend has a 2001 Integra Type R, and WOW that car is FAST!! He's got an exhaust, and thats IT! But I drove it last summer, and I didn't want to even look at my car after. The Type R was so impressive, when the Vtec kicked in, you were thrown back, and the front of the car started to get really light feeling. From a dead stop, i took off, not to hard because I didnt want to burn his tires, and I wasn't used to the car, but I redlined it in first and threw it into second. When I matted it in second, the tires started to spin, and the front of the car started moving to the right....UNBELIEVABLE!!! But anyways, do you think there is any chance that my car is going to run with this one,, after im boosted at say 6psi on the T25, or 8psi on the T3?? Anyone dare guess?? Or mabye someone knows??

Hmm... take the Type R on some corners and I think you'll be even more impressed. They arent all that great on a straight away but not bad none the less. You might be able to take him... but thats my guess. Dont know the exact #'s, but I would assume they put down 170-180 WHP.

Do you guys think I should go with the T25BB or the T3. I live in a small town, no real long straight aways. Few quarter mile stretches and what not....A lot of slow speed races.
t3, look at the #'s our fellow members are putting down...something like almost 200 hp and 189 torque (i'm not sure the exact #'s but its something like that) with the t3/t04 hybrid turbo at 8 psi i think.... check it out man, i think you can take on that type R with those #'s, as long as you aren't rolling on firestones ^_^
What are you guys talking about? I raped an all motor GSR with my SF kit. You cant replace the torque you get with a turbo. I was running street tires on 17's at 10psi. I am putting about 230+ to the ground now. Add 20% lost to the ground and you have a crank hp at about 250 at least.

Well the hp on his and mine should be equal, but I took him for the same reason I take Mustangs. Power to weight ratio. Look into what a car puts out and then take away 20% loss to the ground. Then compare it to some dyno's posted. The lighter car with equal power will win.

First, if you put a turbo on your car you don't need the intake. The kit will come with piping that replaces it to come from the intercooler. Second, yes at 6psi you should beat him. But that all depends on how good of a driver you are. I beat a cobra mustang at 5psi just bacause he couldn't drive and spun at the line.
if you boost a civic, you can surprise a ton of stock cars that you think you wouldnt have a chance to beat.....watch out for those modded type r's though.....those things whip through the corners then kill you goin straight too.

Yeah, I would imagine in such a light car, running 10 psi your car would scream!
That must have been a sweet feeling, spanking the new $35k coupe
isnt the Type R really popular for its amazing handeling? The car runs 15s stock..... thats nothing crazy, dunno what the hype is. But handeling wise.... I think thats what made the Type R so popular.
