Raced and won against an older Z24

Kid had a turqoise early 90s Z24 very clean lookin with no extra mods from what I heard. He was next to me as we were going from the light. We werent racing until I hit the upper band of 2nd gear right around 4k, my sweet spot with the intake. He started to punch it so I followed suit. So from basically around 40 in second I punched 3rd and was getting close to 70 and had his front end sittin at my rear bumper. He turned away after that, I was pretty impressed with myself and went to brag to my friend at work who has a beat up Z24.

Ha Ha no, unfortunately I was too shocked and elated that my car beat him. I only have an AEM for performance with balding rear tires that I am replacing tomorrow.

You beat an early 90's Z24? Wow props those had a I-6 3100 if I'm not mistaken 140 HP and 180LbsTQ and around 2500 lbs. It should have been a really close race.

Yeah I was pretty shocked when it happened I was expecting him to either beat me by a bit or at least keep up fairly well, but he fell back, Im not talking like he flew back as I whipped by him, it was definitely him crawling. I noticed I gained more on him as I hit the top end between 5500-7000 basically where he would have had to shift and I kept going so I crawled up then. I am pretty sure he was a standard to.
