first decent race of the year
Got my system installed last night, since the stock one sucks more than even the cheapest headphones. (I knew I had to upgrade when my girlfriend made the comment that the stock system in her 98 grand am was better.... ouch!) It has quite a bit of bass, and in fact, I had to turn off bass boost and crank the gain to half. Now it's still pounding, but not so much that it wakes the dead.
Feelin good and having just gotten off the phone with my girlfriend, I was cruising top down, since it's AWESOME outside today. I slide into an open lane at a light and notice in the 3rd lane is a shiny blue 350Z convertible. He has his top down as well, and the guy driving was probably even younger than me.
I'm debating whether I give a little rev or not, but he kinda answers that for me as he starts to creep forward. Stick shift 350Z. I start to bring the revs up a bit, just give a quick look to make sure there's no cops, and I wait. Light is about to turn and I decide on a 4000rpm launch. I probably should have gone with 4500rpm, but I'll find that out in a second.
The light turns and we both launch off the line. Though I get a better launch I bog slightly, and don't get enough wheelspin to keep the lead. He jumps ahead a bit and pulls. I slam to 2nd, back end kicking out just a bit with a slip of the tires. Good shift.
This keeps me within striking distance and topping out 2nd I start to pull just slightly as my bumper is at his door. I get a good 3rd gear shift and I pass him almost on the shift alone. (not sure if the 350Z also shifts near 60mph??) I pull a bit more and now his bumper is at my door. As we near 90mph he's still losing ground and decides to shut down.
A thumbs up and a wave and off our seperate ways.
Summer is almost here, and the only thing missing is my girl next to me in the car in one of her mini-skirts.

ummm I don't think he got rid of the accord cause he was talking about the speakers sucking. Remember people he has a V6 6speed.
