Boosted Civics vs. Mazdaspeed

Would those of you who utilize the magic of boost be able to take on the Mazdaspeed? I don't really know a lot about that car, and I keep daydreaming about the boost I wanna get in a really really really long time [hopefully not that long].

heres some perspective for you

If me, boosted vic, mazda speed were to race the outcome would look somthing like this......

mazda
--------------------------me
--------------------------------------civic

and thats on the civics w/o alcohol injection. lol

just cause it has a turbo doesnt mean it's super fast. lol

^ whats your 1/4mile ET 00celicagts6spd?

a n20 civic on 75 shot would be pulling 14.4's....a 50 shot 14.8's
so i would think that the bar should look alittle something like this...

..............................................n2o vic (50shot)
.................................................. .................n2o vic (75shot)
.................................................. .................00celicagts6spd

but definetely not the 50% difference between you and the n2o

another thing i just though of is that i've heard of a couple of the 'boosted vics' only running low-mid 14's....so thats not far above the n2o area.....which is why i love the juice

I run about 13.9 (will be sportin a new ecu tomorrow though) should be good for 13.8's as is and 13.5 when tuned with the new header I'm waiting for So I'd actually be about even with some of the boosted vics I just didnt want my joke to look too biased

cambo has a spectacular aura aboutcambo has a spectacular aura about
from the factory, mazdaspeeds are supposed to be the best handling stock car, or so i heard/read.

The whole turbocharging the protege/MP3 was to resolve the severly underpowered limited edition MP3

^agreed... and those that are only running 14s on boost are running low boost, the car can actually handle alot more than what they are pulling

Well, then how can we handle them naturally aspirated? With, and without the DH crank pulley...

Mazdaspeed has 170hp and civics have 127hp. I think the mazda would win. We don't know what the pulley can do yet.

^ the mazda would win..thats not a fair race. more displacement, a turbo and more $$$. But all things considered they arent all that fast. A civic on a 50 shot would take em

Last time i saw.... Catalyst was throwing down, something like 210 HP to the wheels..... and the Mazda only throws down 170 HP to the FLYWHEEL!!!???...... I'm a tard when it comes to math but shouldn't the Mazda be puttin around 140 - 150 to the wheels???

Well, EX's put 117ish to the wheels, then. So, we still suck.

^ 117 to the wheels is a bit high

103 - 105 whp would be more reasonable. Its about an 18% loss overall. A DX/LX dyno's in at around 95hp.

Just a FYI
