GTS vs 350z
I'm on my way home from the movies with my girl and this 350z cuts off the car next to me so that its next to me at the light. I look over and its a chick driving. she nods and jumps forward a bit. funny thing is the stoplights here are maybe an 1/8 mile apart, if that.
her : brand new 350z convertible looked 100% stock.
so from the light I owned her pretty bad off the light cause she couldnt launch to save her life.
next light was red and I was a good 3 cars ahead so I slowed down. ( keep in mind I have a passenger. lol)

I thought she was gonna give me the ricer flyby since the light turned green as I was stooping and she was still coming fast. But she didnt. She paced me for sec and then tried to go but aparently she was at the top of her gear so she had to shift like instantly and missed the gear. lol so I slowed a bit and waited at lift in second. This time we both take off and I get a decent jump on her and she falls back by a fender. we stay this way for a sec and she shifted first ( I dunno the redline of a Z so maybe she shifted early?) and fell behind my back bumper. I hit the 2-3 perfectly and kept her at my rear til she had to shift again before me and lost another 1 car length. so by 100 mph she was about 2 cars back.
She was definitely a bad driver but when I got to my turn she stopped and gave me a nod then kept going. So at least she was cool about it. my girl was just laughing. I think without a passenger I would be able to hang with a well driven Z from a roll.

you do know I run a 14.2 1/4 with 2.1 60' compared to most z's that run a 14.1 with a 2.00 60' right? lol
and you're from LA so if you know anyone thats got one I'd be more then happy to test this out on video. it's just a guess but since you so quick to call bs I'd be happy to test it in person or they can feel free to meet me at the track. thursdays I'm at irwindale off the 210/605 frwy and every other sat I'm at california speedway 15/10 frwy. I'm not hard to find.

I never owned a civic bu tmy girl has an 02 EX but it's auto. looks wise I love em and they seem to be well balanced. I still prefer the celica. shorter clutch and the styling is more to my taste as well as the handling. my car isn't happy unless it's above 6100 rpms and I tend to give it what it likes. lol

There is no way you will beat a 350z ever, u can't even beat a damn civic, you celica is slow, and you suck at driving. well if he can drive he'd win. I'm trying to get ahold of the guy I saw down here with a black 7th gen and k20 swap. he's runnin 9.0's in the 1/8. Dunno what all mods he has cause all he said was k20 swap. If I see him at the track again I'll try to get it on vid. He'll beat me but what the hell. lol

lol yeah like 14.1 - 14.0 depending on the track. 14.2 I ran a 9.3 1/8 mile. cause I'm at 1200 ft elevation here. the 1/8 mile track is 365 ft elevation. one of these days I'll drive the 4 hrs to a sea level track and see how I do. lol
no doubt a 2300 - 2400 lbs car is quick with 200 hp. lol he also may have like I/E too. dunno. lol you'll have to hit the track and let us know how it goes.

i can vouch for GT-S's..forget all the magazine talk. a GOOD gt-s driver who can land lift can hit low 14s.
then again..a good driver of any car has a pretty good chance (usually) against anyone with mediocre driving skills.

well, I believe it ... 350z's are rwd, so that helps it a lot in the 1/4 mile ... celica's are fwd ... from a roll, a celica gts would have a much better chance than from a stop ... plus, it was a chick driving 
6spd: you have run a 14.2 in the 1/4 mile, but that is not a consistant time ... probably 14.3-4 would be a more accurate number ...

By the way 00Celica good kill. Definitely get something on video when you find someone with a Z. That would be cool ish. the 350z is a damn good car, i think it would take you, but that person sounded like the worst drive to grace god's green earth.....

car and driver mag. tested a 350z and mach 1 mustang side by side and the 350 was almost a full sec. faster then the mustang and i dont think you celica could get 14.2 with just like a clutch or wahtever your profile said when i read it a week ago that means you maybe have 160 hp to the wheels in a car that weigh's like 200 ld's more then mine which makes since as to why my freinds gs eclipse beat a gts celica and i beat my freinds gs eclipse. so a 350z unless she was trying to get down your pants ("oww you beat me take me home with you") i dont see how you beat it.

that should be a good enough comparison for you. lol most 350z's run 9.1 - 9.3 stock with decent drivers
also if a gt-s lost to a gs eclipse then it was either auto. which most gt-s's are. or they were 1 sorry driver. cause a gs is a 16 second car
10.4 is great for a civic and I know of many Gt-S that run times like that only because they can't drive. theres a guy here with a 35 shot that ran 10.5's @ 81mph. now obviously lookin at the mph you can see he should be 8.8's but he cant drive for beans. he upgraded to a 50 shot, ran 9.8 and a 14.8 1/4. drivers like that are what give celica a bad rep. and make it seem impossible that I can do what I do. lol
Also I'd like to point out I'm NOT the fastest GT-S out here, my teamate ran 14.025 on his last time out. he has I/H/E and while his car is being dyno tuned right now his header only gave 5 - 6 whp gains.

Man for the crazy price Toyota charges for 180hp, it had BETTER run 14s. $25,100 for the GTS with leather seats and 16s...criminy. That's RSX territory, and getting close to EVO, RX8 and 350Z. I always figured that's why I never see them on the roads around here, and when I do, they are GTs.
