Integra Vs. my 7th Gen
Okay, I'm a noob at these, but I still gotta ask...
My friend's Integra:
AEM intake, racing clutch, gutted and lowered. 1.8 I4
My 7th Gen EX Sedan:
Header, intake, muffler, nitrous (small shot), lowered. 1.7 I4 Vtec
Who would win? I know it's a sad race compared to many of the races going on here... but I've just started. Give me time before I work up to the Vipers and Supras

so the teg is lowered twice?!?!

j/k bud
should be a drivers race, depending on what trim of integra vs what trim of your civic
i.e. integra GSR vs civic LX

My friend has the LS model. He tells me the GSR and his LS (or all LS's) are the same except for the engine.
What can I do besides a turbo that might make me win? Anyone?

my friend has an Integra LS with AEM CAI, and Greddy Cat Back Exh.....and its pretty fast for just having that....u have an ex 5spd hes gutted so he deff has weight advantage....and my buddy said he is like dead even with Stock GSR's with I/E so im gonna say he has the advantage unless u use ur nos and ur a better driver

it all depends on what extent of "gutting" means. Depends on the amount of weight you reduce. If it's in the hundreds.....you'll have quite a gain (but your only advantage would be your weight, if he does weight reduction you're screwed.)
What can you do to beat him? Major gutting, lighter wheels, and up the shot.
HOWEVER, I noticed you said you have a small shot of nitrous. If you have a 35 shot, you should be able to AT LEAST keep up.
If you have a 50 shot, you should be able to take him...easy.
If you bump to a 75, you'll be runnin circles around him.

If you are running the right pressure and have a bottle warmer, a 35 shot is well enough to inch ahead of him or beat him. A 50 shot will win. I raced my buddies s2k with a 50 shot and was keeping up (30mph roll) for some time. He got me on top end. Its all about your launch. BTW, I dont care what people say, spray at top of first, you WILL get traction and lose less time activating it between gears.

I was thinking of using a 55 shot, my car isn't modded heavily... any more than that could apparenly bust my car up.
BTW, I've heard that NO2 doesn't work with our cars, because we don't have some sort of "vacuum ported fuel pressure regulator". Even the website of the system I have (Zex) doesn't include 7th gen civics on it's "list of zexable cars". Do you know anything about this?

zex works on our cars...i noticed it wasnt listed on their site either..dont know what's up with that. i think the vacuum thing you're talking about is just the fuel system in our vics that dont allow you to change the fuel pressure without at least some modifications to the fuel delivery. Just to let you know, there isnt anything wrong with going to 65 or 75 shot of wet nitrous as long as your careful and take proper precautions:
dont screw up spraying when you shouldnt
run on 94 octane or closest to it...higher the better
keep eye on fuel pressure
have the right spark plugs
have the right bottle pressure
probably shouldnt do it alot on the stock clutch....but every now and then should be ok. You're engine is worth $500.....worse case scenerio you're out that money and the use of your car for a week or two. It's not a total disaster unless some sort of freak fire/explosion. Which is very very very very unlikely if you're careful
BTW: 35 shot you'd be able to keep up if your a good driver, 75 and you'd be handing him his *** in a paper bag

And just what are the guidelines on how to spray? Does anyone know any good sites that might have a simple FAQ on spraying, when to, when not to, and so on?
I'm the kind of guy to use this only sparingly, so my clutch should last for a while, I hope. But I'm not all that experienced with this, either, so I could use some info.
"I've seen you drive, you have a heavy foot... you'll blow yourself to pieces" -guy on Fast & Furious. It's phrases like that that I just don't get, shouldn't you HAVE pedal to the metal when you are spraying?

and last time i checked a "danger to the manifold" wouldnt result in a generic and very random floor panel popping out of the car...but i dunno...maybe its just me.
F&F is worthless for anything more than seeing a few hot cars and some very decent ladies.
When to spray...that depends on you. I'll be getting a window switch for my kit and more than likely spray all the way through first, second, third, fourth from 3000rpm-6800rpm. Maybe not quite 6800...i might leave some room but i'm not sure yet.

So let me get this straight... you only have No2 spraying WHILE you have your finger down on the button, then, correct? Can you switch gears while you are in the middle of a spray? Only spray between the 3-6.8 rpm range?
And like I said... isn't it a waste of No2 if you *Don't* have the pedal to the metal while you are spraying?

Exhaust, Intake, Header - Bolt ons
What else can I do to squeeze some extra HP out of my little stock engine besides NO2 and Turbo, and besides the "little" things like performace shocks rods blah blah blah.
I like civics because you can customize them so much... but I feel limited with just so few extra options I can do to get more HP. I guess I'm still searching for the proverbial "fountain of youth" that will make my civic into a... true performance machine.
