I Got to drive my girlfriends mom's 2003 Celica GT-S 6 speed last night, that thing is amazingly fast, the only bad thing is the 6speed is so close from like 2 up into 3rd that u have to be careful but its fast i smoked a 97 mustang GT Automatic, i got smoked by a 90 probe turbo but it was fully gutted (with only two seats), had 3 inch turbo back exhaust, only 1 person while i had 3, had injectors, intake, boost controller, and he said he smoked some civics thurs night that were running 14.8's and he only had us in the celica by like 1 car length at the most im thinking with only 1 person in the celica and intake i couldve had him but its not my car all i have to say is i give 00celicagts6spd mad credit that thing is fast, the VVT-i with lift pulls so hard its unbelieveable.

Yes VERY wonderful i had the probe in first then lift kicked in and i was pulling then i shifted into second and he pulled then likt and i pullled than third he just pulled a lot so when i hit lift he was already ahead and i couldnt pull that much we ended at like 100

our cars stock can take a regular GT, but not a GT-S never been in one or raced one, but im pretty sure id hand it to one

Before I got my civic my dad and I test drove a GT-S. The stock GT-S motor sounds so sweet guys. No joke. Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't the GT-S come with a short shifter???

Thanks for giving the celiac some props. The GT-S is a great car and VVTL-i is awesome. I go to many sites who are so closed minded about the Celica (Honda-acura.net comes to mind). Anyway thanks to 00celicagts6spd for being informative on this site.

Eeeeeeeh > No the GT-S doesn’t come with a short shifter. Compared to our civics it has a shorter throw by far. Once you put an actual SS on one, the throws are VERY short.

C2i0v0i1c > I disagree, a stock civic will not beat a sock Celica GT, not even close. Unless it’s an auto vs. a civic 5-speed. I’ve driven a GT and it would definitely beat my 04 ex. As for the GT-S vs. my civic......I see many buss lengths.

And if your all wondering.......yeah I own a 00 GTS 6-speed as well

I'm willing to bet you would more then likely run around mid 15's at the track. Almost everyone new to celicas does. once you learn how to keep it in lift after shifting you'll notice a big difference. most newbie gts drivers dont land in lift when they shift which can change your times 1/2 second or more.

as for any civic wanting to race a gts a good 75 shot and dr's will have you faster then most. to beat mine better be boosted. lol I got beat by one already. lol would like to meet one at the track though would make a great vid. sometimes losing is ok if its for a good cause. lol

My SN on Newcelica.org is Luvin It. I’ve actually had my celi for about 7 months. I can land the 1-2 lift shift with ease (took a bit of practice, but I got down to a science) Im willing to bet I can get a 14.5 at the track due to the fact that I don’t have DR's. But I have I/E/SS and some other stuff, being that this is a civic forum I won’t drone about my Celica. I just want to get as good as DanGT-S.

04ex I watched my cousin who has a 01 Dx with SRI/Muffler beat a celica with I/E. But yeah it must have been a bad driver since you have driven both.

LOL yeah this was and is still talked about all the time at newcelica.org. The ruling has been its a drivers race. Both cars in capable hands run neck and neck. The RSX-S has an aftermarket advantage, with the addition of a hondata a RSX-S is faster. A company called Monkeywrench is trying to develop a tuned power FC that is essentially the same thing as a hondata, but it will be pretuned to the mods you have on your car. Looks real promising but its expensive as hell, about $1000.00 when it comes out.

Eeeeeeeh did your cousin beat a GT? It could have been an auto GT-S as well. Those things are pretty slow compared to the 6-speed.

yea celicas i give madd props but now that im driving my civic again i hate celicas bc i have nothing close to lift, an auto and not a 6spd and a slow POS so **** celicas just bc they are so fast and amazing im jk celicas are coool but i have one ?

Well a manual WRX runs about a 14.2 and 15.1 for auto. So it most likely depends on the driver. With a good driver in a GT-S you can beat a bad driver in a manual WRX so anything is possible. But vs the auto, id put my bet on the GT-S.

In the suby you'd beat 99% of the gts's out there. unless you run a good driver with a few mods then you might lose. I've only ever raced 1 and I beat it. he runs 14.3 - 14.6 at the track. Can't say that I could repeat that either. from a roll I can prolly take one. that damn awd launch would help you beat almost any celica.

they run low 15's at best.
yes that's with my mods.
no tuning, stock wheels, tires, catback exhaust.
the car is just slapped together
bad 60' times, horrible wheelspin, no tuning
howver on the freeway i hang with stock evo 8s.

A celica GTS runs about a 15.4 at its VERY best. When my car was stock I would regularly BITCH SLAP GTS Celicas. A stock TSi runs about a 14.9. Then you have the nerve to say they run a 13.9 with a intake and exhaust?!?! A second and a half with 15hp worth of bolt ons?? Christ! lease: A Mustang GT runs a 13.9 and its 270hp!! Think about it braniac!!

Second: A Celica GTS aint got **** on a WRX!! Christ! Those cars run 14.2. And an auto WRX doesn't run 9 tenths slower than an manual. Are you stupid?? 180hp vrs 224hp!! Do you really need to think about it. Then to say it depends on driver?? Ray Charles could outrun a GTS Celica in a WRX!! You guys are really dumb!

Pick a better car to admire than a bitchmobile Celica GTS. It might be cool for my Girlfriend to drive, but thats about it.
