02 Civic Ex vs 96 Maxima
yeah the other night some guy i know wanted me to race his retarded friend in his moms 96 stock 5speed maxima..and yes, he really is retarded...well, "special ed" meaning hes in between normal and tard. but anyways he was pulling out of a gas station and yells at me across traffic if i wanted to race...(well considering i was going the oposite direction it went almost unsaid what my reply was) but i had a couple girls in the car and they dont like that kind of **** so i declined. then he shows up while i was hanging out with my friends and asks. i declined again and told him some other night. just wondering who you guys think will win. sure its a maxima....a really cheap piece of **** maxima. on regular terms i wouldnt even post something like this in the forum and just go ahead and accept my loss, but ****, i really dont feel like losing to this guy. lol he said he could bark 3rd to 4th and his friend told me hes going to cut his cat off.....thats it. hes just going to cut it off. no strait pipe, just gone. thats how big of a moron im talking about here. anyone know how much horsepower those have?

well theres a white one in my town i always see and one time i got a chance to race it i don't know what mods are done to it but i caught him at a red light as soon as the light turned we both launched i was dead even in first and second but when i hit third it flew right buy me like nothing it probley whould of kept going but i guess he felt nice that day and stoped when he had about 5 cars on me...maximas have a really terrible start but once they get started

Rep Power: 0 Maxima will take you bone stock, I know this without having to race one. Our cars always do fine first through second in almost every race but once you hit third its all over. If you wanna race that fool, you better go get more than a couple of mods done first.

Well thats a factory rating in 96 so it's probably pushing 140 or so to the wheels at the most. And it's probably alot hevier.
But if you manage to wreck his *** the passenger wil mostly likley get really f**ked up. 3 start rating. Not a very good family car if you ask me.

Rep Power: 338 even with a 50 shot, I dont know if you would win, but... stock to stock, even with IHE, Civic's will get smoked my Maxima's, especially when it's a 5 speed.

Rep Power: 0 stock 4gen(1995-1999) 5spd maxima runs low 15s(15.0-15.2). Auto 4gen runs ~15.5....i don't think you guys can even out launch one....they can get a 60-ft of 2.2 seconds easily. Think of it as racing a factory freak h22a prelude when encounting a 5spd(but thats if the driver can drive).

Rep Power: 0 my buddy has a 97 maxima same specs 190 hp 5 spd. he helped me install my turbo and we wanted to test it out. at 4psi we were neck to neck but he was pulling REALLY slow away from me. i dont know how much hp i was running... so yea, if youre bone stock, you'll prolly lose...

I agree. I dont think a civic with a 50 shot could take me. Maybe if the car was completley gutted with one seat, or if it had adj. cam gearsthat were dyno tuned with i/h/e.
