The SC'd Cobras have 390bhp. My friend has a '99 Cobra (320bhp) and I'll tell you right now - without a swap and boost, you've got absolutely no chance. A turbo'd Civic puts down like 175hp to the wheels. A GT Mustang has 260 to the crank... I don't think you'd even beat that. As for V6 Mustangs, you'll eat those.

so i wouldn't mind. The supra will always be my first love though a civic will get over 175whp...thats if you keep it around the stock boost (5.5psi)...Mike,Catalyst, was over 200whp at 9psi on a stock engine and clutch. I'd get a PnP done, intake manni, clutch, forged low compression pistons, then turbo. With that set up you would definately have GT's, might run close with cobras...

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I don't exactly like the idea of 9psi on our stock engines.
Let's say you get 200whp with a turbo vic. That = a p/w ratio of 12.
The Cobra still has a p/w of 9.5 if it's SC'd. The N/A still has a p/w of 11.5, and the benefit of RWD. ...and neither have turbo lag.

By the time you put in the 30k-40k that a cobra goes for, a civic would spank the crap out of the cobra. A used 2001 goes for about 11k-13k. So, you have about 20k-30k to spend on mods. So, in a cost for cost, a civic would win.

There is no replacement for displacement. Sure you can turbo your civic but they can turbo their GT. Don't even bother trying to argue about it larger engines are superior for developing the most horsepower.

Oh, he put a 100 shot of nitrous on it last thursday night. That thing is just obscenely fast.
My boss has a silver 03' Cobra with all kinds of mods on it, chip upgrades, intake, headers, X-pipe exhaust, different pulleys, and some upgrade to the supercharger and i rode with him last week to give blood in town and trust me, that car is incredibly fast. While giving blood he told me he had an appt. to get it dyno'd in like an hour and asked if I wanted to go, so I rolled with him over there (on the clock the whole time too) and the results came out showing 576 HP to the rear wheels. I don't know about yall, but thats freakin AWESOME! So yeah, buy a Cobra and add an aditional $6 grand to it, your almost unbeatable...
