03 LX Auto I/E vs. 03 Matrix XRS I/E
I Have A 2003 Honda Civic LX Auto With DC Sports Short Ram Intake ANd HKS Hi-power Rear Section I Raced A 2003 Matrix XRS Auto With Injen Long Ram Intake And TRD Axle Back Exhaust And I Smoked the **** out of him by like 2 car lengths but all i have to say is that VVT-I is HARDCORE he pulled up a whole hell of a lot on me when it kicked in His car sounds mean but its not
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the XRS have 180HP (same motor as the Celica GTS?)...I know its not to the wheels but its a considereable amount...Did he mess up or something?

Rep Power: 338 I thought the XR-S cant have the 4WD... only the base engine can have it. But that doesnt help the auto tranny cause

Rep Power: 0 No Its An XRS And He Gunned It bc Hes My boy and he even admitted that i **** on him its a 180 hp engine out of the celica but with a shitty auto and in like a minivan/station wagon form so it has a lot of weight on me and he had 2 people but i didnt really "kill" it it wsa like a car length

Rep Power: 0 The auto matrix XRS with I/E usually puts down about 151whp or about 40 more then the LX puts to the crank. I know they are teh major slow and an EX auto can keep up but I just can't see the lx doin it.

Rep Power: 0 after checking the toyota website, the XRS only comes in 6-speed, and is front wheel drive, the XR, however comes in 5-speed/front drive, auto/front drive, or auto/4wheel-drive
the XRS has 173 hp/130tq, the XR and base have 130hp/125tq

Rep Power: 0 ok the matrix XRS for 04 is primarily 6spd some regional markets will carry auto but only a few. In 03 almost all of the regional markets carried the auto XRS. Because it's so selective for 04 they don't list it on toyotas website!
This is what I was told earlier from my friend who is a toyota engineer! He also happens to own an 03 auto XRS. lol

Rep Power: 0 I drive a gutted LX four door, I have I/E and I've been driving stick for a lot longer then my friend who recently bought a 2004 Matrix XRS 6 speed. He WORKED my SOHC no problem, keeping in mind that he is a shitty driver and he was probably not even redlining, not to mention his car is stock. Are you shitting me?

Rep Power: 0 Actually guys.....the 2003 models did come with automatic tranny.....for the 2004 its been discontinued.
As far as 180horses? Yes thats true but u should check its peak rpm....its at like 7000rpm......and the lift (high horsepower) kicks in at 6000.......before that.....its **** all. I believe it.......but once ur on the highway,,,,prepare to say" got raped"
