Lost to a GSR
well, this shouldn't be surprising seeing as how I'm in a n/a civic. I don't know what kind of mods the gsr had ... but from the front, it looked like it had some hyper white bulbs and some sort of exhaust. Anyway, tonight around 12am (short while ago) I was turning out of my complex and he followed me... we got down to normal surface streets and we were side by side ... he turned out to be a she.
Anyway, light turn green, we both went normally ... I was stuck in first because I didn't know if she was gonna go ... when I got to 3000 rpms, I heard her go, so I proceeded to run ...
well, the results are that by the time we hit about 75 (speed limit 45) ... she had 1 1/2-2 car lengths on me when I shut down.
Damnit, my car sucks ... oh well ...
tanabe rspec, denso iridiums, kamikaze header, 2.5" downpipe, aem cai are my mods...
damnit, I want a turbo or engine swap ... T_T;;

No surprise here. You will not even be able to touch a STOCK GSR. Nevermind a modded one. Unless of course you have some serious mods on your civic. Something like nitrous or a turbo set up. OBD 1 GSR's can be extremely quick with just basic bolt ons. OBD II GSR's are fast as well but you will sqeeze more power out of an OBD 1. They respond better to bolt ons. Girl or not, I suggest you just turn the other way if you encounter another GSR.
PS: I do not consider the GSR as gods gift to imports. I just know a much faster car when I see one.

lease: Look, the GSR is faster than all of the other new civics other than the Si, they run the same in the 1/4: 15.7. Like my best freind has a 98, and that thing is blazin' fast, but it is faster than ours. I haven't raced him yet in my Ex (2.25 piping/muffler and CAI) but I know that he would beat me, but I don't know by how much. Waitin' to get some more stuff until i'm for sure I can take him
And the 2001 GSR cost $21 back then, you can get a damn Neon for $20 and give a 350Z or a stang a run for its money now. No, the GSR isn't a speed demon, but it is faster than ours, stock anyways

Ricer huh? That's quite funny. You know what else if funny? Your ignorance. The GSR is still far more superior to your civic.

I was racing an older odb1 gsr ... not the newer gen's
and they run a 15.3 in the 1/4 mile ... not 15.7 ... that's a time for the older Si's
patrickb: uhh, let's see dude ... a gsr is not slow. Oh ****, wait, I forgot, you have a turbo ... that means most cars ARE slow to you. Your opinion is very biased in this case ... and is discounted

The VW GTI 1.8T cost $21,000. Trust me, I was going to get one this summer which had no options on it, and that was the base price for it. The GTI 1.8T ran a 15.3 and with the neuspeed chip that would probablly give it at the most 15 hp, still not enough in my opinion to run a low 14. You can make anything fast with money though, lots of it

I paid 18500 for my 03 gti 1.8t ( 300 over invoice), and 400 for REVO chip. Ran 14.8 @95mph with a 2.5 60'. Nuespeed is junk, you have to go APR, REVO or GIAC. My point is for 19000 the GTI is not to shabby. Also, a REVO 4 bar fpr Chip puts about 210hp to the crank. www.revotechnik.com
hope this is directed towards me but in 01 the wrx was 18k 3 years of inflation can do that.
--Actually, I was just posting prices because I saw different numbers being thrown around. However, as far as the WRX is concerned I believe they have always cost 23k. Are you sure you don't mean the RS? For the GTI, I'm with naptowncivic, they seem to respond very well with only a chip and are relatively cheap. The redesigned 05' is supposed to get independent rear suspension as well.
