Just got tore up last nite by a fellow Civic owner!

Just got tore up last nite by a fellow Civic owner!
It was about 11:30pm and I was sitting at a stoplight with my buddy in my 03 Civic EX coupe 5 speed. All I've got so far is a strut tower bar and an AEM V2. Anyhoo, another civic pulled up next to me. This thing was ghetto. 98-ish LX, four door, green street glow, and green neon license plate frame, chrome 19's, and a loud bumble-bee fart can exhaust. I just smiled, while me and my buddy traded comments about that piece.
Well, the light turned green and we just accelerated normally. He stayed right next to me and the proceeded to show off his bumble bee exhaust. I just turned and laughed figuing is was just some distasteful rice burner. So I decided to humor him. We both took off at the same time rolling at about 30 mph. I had him easily. Won by about 1.5 car lengths. We pulled up to the next light, and I just looked over and smiled. The other guy was just shaking his head and smiling.
The next light turned green and we both knew it was on. I had the guy easily from the start (he just sat spinning his wheels). By the time I hit 40mph I was about 2 car lengths in front, and then out of nowhere he blasts by. Now it's about 70mph, and he's at least 3 car lengths in front. My jaw dropped! Before I could pull up next to him he turned off on the highway.
Either this guy was just toying with me, or he busted out a shot of nitrous. I thought I had this joker.

lol, i always get a kick out of the nitrous is cheating argument. "well, you just bolted it on and, uhh..." im like ok, so dont you just bolt on a turbo?
Another way of looking at it is like this: 3 guys go by 1998 Civic EX's, Guy A spends $2000 on a turbo kit. Guy B scraps the D series motor in favor of a $3000 B18C1 with a few bolt ons. Guy C spends $500 on a 75 shot of nitrous. All cars run about a 14 second quarter. But does Guy C have the right to say he's as fast as Guy's A and B??? Guy A and B can run 14's all day but once Guy C's Nitrous runs out he doesn't stand a chance. I don't see it as cheating, but an temporary advantage.
