1/4 mile times
Yesterday and today I was racing at the track and the best I ran was a 16.435 at 83 miles an hour I would post them but I dont have a scanner on this computer. But my question is I have a 02 EX with AEM CAI and DC sports header and it was at 1253' above see level is that a good time for our vics or what? I have been racing for about 3 years so I know how to drive the car to the fullest either granny shifting or double clutchin did both. Let me know what some of you guys are running including mods if possible. Just a curiosity thing....
but because of the altitude it adjusts the time, and some people on this site know how this works, i dont know exactly, someone will come across this thread and tell you, it should lower it a little bit... but hey, btw, ur engine pic looks sick, love the red...

Well I raced once with regular shifting and raced once with double clutching keeping it floored while switching gear and damn near slamming in gear while barely pushing in clutch...

Yes thats true I was on oem wheels and tires and spun threw first and a little bit of second, I launched most of the time at 4500-5000 and tryed launching at 3500-4000 but I went a little slower, I ran the best though when I had my fronts at 20 psi I got way better traction but still spun like a bi#$%...
I ran a 16.5 my first run at the track when the vic was stock. I could of run faster, but I only wanted to run once. My reaction time was bad, but a 16.5 for stock is good. Now I have a DC TCS cat-back exhaust, DC SS header, K&N air filter, and 17" RH Evos with NeoGens. Im thinking if I go out again, Ill be running low 16's to high 15's.
lol how is holding down the gas and the clutch at the same time supposed to make the car faster? Its not like your putting power to the ground when you hold the clutch in and the gas, if anything you ruin the clutch and it will start to slip infact ruin your 1/4 times. ???

Keeping floored when you shift so that millisec you push in clutch to shift you dont lose rpms or momentum atleast thats how I was tought to double clutch it seems to shave about 1-2 tenths off the 1/4 if you launch right, but everyone seems to have their own way of shifting and calling there way of double clutchin....

Yea it does but so does racing your car all the time anyways... Thats the reason why I have the 7 year 75000 mile warranty for those reasons, because my car is normally aspirated and dont plan on turboing it anytime soon because that would have been a waste of 1200$ on ex. warranty, or anything to void the engine and powertrain warranty...
