It really cracks me up. All I see on this side of the site is a usual bash of the si. all the ex,dx, and lx owners really actually think their car is faster. Wow, amazing. Then again, I remember seeing the same **** when the 99-00 si came out. A ton of ex,lx,dx owners would talk so much **** about the si's. Hilarious. But yet, no one on this site will run against me. and I don't even have the full i/h/e setup I used to have. just i/h

That CRX has a JDM D16, don't know if that makes a huge diff but I'm telling you the car is really fast and the driver in the EP is not a rookie by any means.

the last gen SiR was rated better in all performance categories over the '02 SiR but it wasn't a huge difference.
The 7thGen Si is faster than the last gen though...but again, only marginally.
I will get a video for you of that CRX vs. the EP3 next time they race ok. It's not that I disagree with you but I would like you to see it non the less.

ummm...I would really need to see proof to beleive that. I've driven the EP3 and it's quick but I don't know about a B16 CRX.

He did however have some big *** 18's on there. I'm sure that doesn't help him. I barely beat him, not by much.
The 99-00 Si was faster than the current Si in America. Sure, it did not have I-Vtec and as much torque, but it had an 8,000 rpm redline, and it weighed 25?? pounds, compared to the new Si's 27?? pounds. I've seen at the drags a new Si race an old Si and the old one took it by about two car lenghts. The Old Si had an exhaust system and headers, and the new one had an AEM CAI and headers also. Yeah both of these are faster than any Dx/Lx/Ex even if they have the same ****, or are just completely stock, but the gap isn't as large like it was in the 90's. And if you think about it, street racing isn't all about mod's and the cars, its mainly about skill, that's why I think most people are such big fans.

So then Why did the 3rd gen Acura Integra Type R run a 14.7; and why does the RSX Type-S run a 15.0?? Isn't the RSX like Acura's little sporty car?? just like the Integra was?? The Type R had 195 hp and less torque than the 200hp Type S
Eeeeh ... you're over it ... just let the convo die ... let civic r type think what he wants ... he is entitled to his own opinion ...
in my own opinion, 99 si's are quicker ... but that doesn't go the same for everyone else's opinion ... I've seen stats that say the new si's are slower ... they weigh more and have the same hp ... biggest displacement doesn't mean a faster car ... 99 si's weighs less as well. but again, that's my opinion ... and my judgment to what I've seen through stats

well Azn here is my opinion owning one and driving plenty of 99-00 sure they redline higher and maybe lighter and you can feel the Vtec more then the I-vtec but there is no way that the 99-00 si is faster having driven both and pulling on the 99 through all gears with just a Intake.but im done posting in this forum.

Because if you knew anything about Honda you would know the Type R badge is for the full blown sports cars of honda. They have a Type R over seas that out performs the Type S here. The type S is a notch below a type R.
The type R of 2003 is faster then the Type R of 2000. Make that comparison instead.
#2 driver for driver, mod for mod, all things equal the 02+ si's will edge out the 00 si's everytime. We may not have the high redline, but we have more torque, which gets us off the line faster and ahead faster, our power comes on quicker, so by the time the 00 Si is in it's powerband, and the vtec kicks in, our i-vtec system is already generating us more torque and HP. We may not have the high redline, but our power comes on at 3500, not 5200 Lets not forget the I - vtec affords the new Si 50 degrees +/- in cam angle. Do you know how nuts that is being able to adjust the intake cam 50 degrees advanced/retard. That is a big edge my friend.
This is why our cars don't have the 'real' vtec per say and we can still drop it on the older gen Si's
Anyone can rev a car up to full redline and shift. It takes a driver to push the new SI, and If anyone has a camera and stock Si 99-00, I have an intake and ill race any stock Si with i/h/e.
Let's see what the real deal is.

As for this whole which Si is faster...damn this will go on forever. As far as I'm concerned, my si is faster than the 99-00 si with the same bolt ons. I've driven them and know how they feel. Love that 8k rpm, but still doesn't match up against the new one. I've never been beaten by one.....so far.
You know what, I would like to make a toast **raises champane glass and bottle** a toast to all of the 7th gen civic owners. Right now on the streets, we are a minority. And constantly I always hear other previous gen honda owners bashing our cars, but the fact is, ours are faster because of the technology, plain and simple. So I will drink to that!! **Chugs** **Chugs**
In Texas and in Denver I hardly ever see and 7th gens', ever. But I know that things are differenct all over. But one thing that I think we might get is a lot of sh*t talkin' about our cars. I don't even know why either.
you can see a 7th gen at every intersection in cali...the only thing is that half of them are driven by grandmas and grandpas...can we see a video of one of the EPs racing a 00 Si??
