Rep Power: 0 Blown away by a 97 Jeep Cherokee
My dad and I happen to be going down the same back country road the other day, he was in his Company '97 Jeep Cherokee 4 dr 4.0L auto and I was in my 02' Civic EX vtec auto.
We both pulled over to the side of the road along a straight stretch to B.S. and decided to do a little speed competition just for fun. To make it safe, since this was a narrow road he had me pull in front of him and told me to see if I could get away from him.
From a dead stop I hammer it, he had a little late start since we had no set "go" mark. Not long after I was going all out he came up beside me and passed me and kept going.
My car is really stock though, it's got a K&N filter and thats about it. I never claimed my car was fast, I just thought you guys might like to know about my Civics poor performance compared to other stock vehicles.
For real speed I have a '65 Coronet 440 that I drag race occasionally in the summer, but mostly use it to cruise and terrorize the local streets of my town and the neighboring town.

Rep Power: 0 Haha, he grew up in the 60's muscle car era, he knows not to go up against the 440 unless you mean real business. I can't even get my Uncle to race me and he's got a 1966 Chevelle, 396/4 speed car. He's gone for a ride in my car before though so I guess he knows there's no point.
His cars no slouch of course, but 440s run well.
