that for the coupe. i have a sedan lol. they time it at 16.5 i'll try to beat that
A couple tips.
Do not go throw the water box (burn out box) with regular radial tires. You'll drag water to the line hurting your 60ft times as well as the next person behind you (we hate that).
When staging there are two staging lights for each side. Light your one first. Let your opponent light their first one. Then light up the second. This is known as a courtesy stage.
When launching on street tires leave the tree after the second yellow, lights up going on the third light. This "should" give you a decent reaction time.

Oh, and there's really no difference between the coupe and sedan's performance. The weight, the different body style differences are very neglible. It's a driver's race.

600 miles...lanch is where i'm blowing it i keep driving like i'm at a stop sign....not reving starting from 1000 rpms ....next time i try from 3000....and the car i own is a 2003 Honda civic ex stick sedan...the difference in weight coupe and sedan is only 60 pounds lol
3,000 RPMs is okay for a bone stock engine but I would still launch it a bit higher. I'd say no more than 4,500. 4,000 RPMs gives great acceleration. Any more, and you'll either be riding the clutch or you won't take advantage of the power delivered in 1st gear. Practice it. Don't be afraid to launch properly.
Oh, and Edmunds may be an unreliable source like any other mag stat. However, next time I'll just say people on this site have ran that time bone stock. Times usually vary around the 16s. No more 17s and no more launching like you're driving on the street. Put those RPMs to work!

i ran a 17.383 @ 78 mph when i went and i have a 2k2 lx coupe 5 speed w/ axle back and 17" rims. i dont think i did very good. i launched at around 4k and the car would kinda bounce some times and the tires would spin too much other times. but when i tried going w/o rev launching it, my time was even worse. i think my tires might be too grippy too. i have 205/40/17 kuhmo escta supra 712 tires. anyone got any suggestions.

well.. bigger rims are bad because it takes a little more power to get them moving, thats why u see ricer's rollin around with steelies in the front... altho u see them with 13" racing slicks at the track...
big rims arent always good.. maybe for autocross when you are already moving, but not when u have to GET MOVING

Kumho Ecsta Supra 712s are shitty for drag launches. That tire is made for cornering, not for off the line traction.
