SE-r vs 7th gen
So I raced a stock SE-R non spec-v tonight. I have an EX 5spd w/ intake and exhaust. It was really close, we raced twice, the first time we were even and the second time he won by about a foot and a half. It was fun, I always thought those things were quicker tho. They seem to have a lot more low end and I had a lot more high end. I expected to lose anyway.
I thought the Spec-V was as fast as the Civic Si.

He did NOT have a spec-v. I think my civic pulls harder then other civics for some reason. He was not that bad of a driver, I talked to him a little after and all of his friends said he is a pretty good driver.
Nissan is going to be releasing a new SE-R for 2005, tentatively titled 'SE-R V-Spec II', and it will indeed be running on the legendary V-Spec II Skyline suspension. Not sure if the original Spec-V will still be available, but my guess is that they'll scrap it for the V-Spec II. Don't have the exact HP/Torque numbers, but I am sure that they will both be above 200. Engine will be NA, and drivetrain will remain FF.

Wow, that sounds awesome. If it were RWD, it'd kick even more ***...
Honda's getting behind, though....

eh automatic base se-r...i think ide still give the edge to the se-r
someone earlier said GTS can hang with S's in some cases yes but they are not in same category...Type S and Type R's are in same category for most part and GTS and GSR are more in same category, the SI's shouldnt even be in GTS" category they are bit slower but have edge b.c. they do have a great bottom end.
From what ive learned all stock
Type S - 14.2-14.4 quick car to begin with dont take much
Type R - 14.3-14.7 this car is really a drivers car
GTS Celica- 14.9-15.3 this car is really a drivers car also
Eclipse GTS- now im talking 1st and 2nd gens aiite...90-99 estimated 14.4-14.9 anything higer u dont deserve a turbo car lol, i used to own GSX and ran 14.4
GSR-14.9-15.3- This car has awesome top end like the big brother "R"

i ran a 203 SE-R in my EX 5-speed with CAI and exhaust. But as you know, our 7th gen civic probably has the worst 3rd gear for power out of every car on the road. Obviously im kidding, but still, our 3rd gear sucks big time, and thats where i lost the race to the SE-R. I had him off the line, and through 2nd...but then when 3rd was playin the game...the SE-R just kept walkin away from me.
Now that i have my K20A2 motor it will be a different story.

I raced one in 1/8 last saturday night. He beated me for .6
But i made him suffer all the race with my 1.7 haha.
Just wait me to get the turbo and it will be different.
I had a sentra before my civic and I think they are the best cars.
