I have a stock Si.. but if i were to get a I/H/E and raced my friends stock 92' 5.0 Mustang.. Do you think I would have a chance against him? Oh and by the way, hes automatic.

Rep Power: 0 eh well, the current V8 GT Mustang runs the 1/4 in 14.8 seconds. A Civic Si does that 15.2? And from my understanding the 5.0s were very slow unless modified. I cant imagine 5.0s being faster than current GTs. Id imagine you stand a fairly good chance.. especially if you have I/H/E. I imagine the race the will close

Rep Power: 0 my last time at the track i raced a new mustang gt that ran a 13.8 and i ran an 90 5.0, auto that ran a 15.4
my si ran a 16.0 stock, w/ i/h/e - 14.9
you might have a chance, if you know how to drive it.

Rep Power: 286 If the mustang has a worn tranny, you know the one that slips right after 40mph like my friend's 71 vette lol. Then you'll spank him as long as your car goes over 40-50mph. Just though I'd share lol.

Rep Power: 0 You can never be too sure because I've seen 5.0's run anywhere from high 13's to low 15's at the track. I will say that your SI is not likely to win sorry. I agree with imurmilk. SI runnin 14.9 best should be weary of a car that can potentially hit 13's is all Im sayin. too many variables for a definite answer though. I'd say go for it and then post the results.

I agree that he will loose unless there are problems with the mustangs run. But anything could happen. I've seen a well built up 89 mustang with a **** load of $$ into it run high 14's cause the car is just worn out. Anyways.....the car in question stock should be running high 14's in average conditions, at average altitude. Are you gunna argue me too?
