13.6 uncorrected 1/4 mile
HAHAHA!!!! i did it! I broke into the 13's on my 2002 LX with PUMP GAS!!!
I was running the SF base kit with the alcohol/water injection, and on 9 psi i ran a 13.6 @ 101.887 MPH!!!! I turned it up to 11 psi, and they kicked me off the track before i could go because i didnt have a helmet. I am at the shop right now, but when i get home i will scan my timeslip and post them! I ran a 13.9 and a 13.6. I will post both slips.

we are trying to get into the 12's on the stock motor. If i had a good set of slicks, i think i could have shaved off another 0.2 sec. I think i will buy a set this week, and turn it up to 11 psi and get a helmet.

there are no signs of detonation. So we are gonne see how far it goes. I know that the first thing to go will be the headgasket. I have a fully ported head here that i need to put on anyway, so when i blow it i will put that on.

jeezus. to run 13.6 in a FWD civic. I can't even imagine the kind of power you must be putting down. I mean that turbo has to be putting you near 250+ hp to run that kind of time.

I was soooo suprised when i got the time slip. i saw it and started laughing. I will by dynoing the car next friday in bakersfield at the Celica Dyno shootout. The 4 major turbo companies for the celicas (SF, XS engineering, Dave Draper, and Blitz) are going head to head to head to head. Then we are going to race again in bakersfield (a much better track than LACR).
Congrats on the time !! get it on the dyno to see what kind of power you can really pull out of it instead of test and tune.
With those cars being light as hell I'd guess 210-220whp would get you 13's easy.
Did you do any weight reduction?

I'd say you are making around 220whp. Because I've see an EP3 run making 240whp, good driver, sticky tires, alot of wheel hop, and about 200 lbs heavier that your car and run 13.8
Off topic-
Have you guys started looking looking at making a kit for the EP3 yet? I'm planning on getting boosted with in the next few months and was hoping to get a kit from you guys.

we are releasing the celica GT kit, the pontiac Vibe kit, toyota matrix kit, toyota corolla kit, and Eclipse V6 kit next week. I dont know when we will get the si kit out. But first, we would need a car to build the system on.
Nice run! With that time you'd mop up a lot of the cars at the local track.
How's the reliablity factor though? How much punishment can the stock block and drivetrain take before it bites the dust?

I remember when everyone was saying how weak the d17 was and how it would not stand up to anything above 5psi or something. Keep it up Catalyst you are paving the way for alot of us.

Well, my daily setting is 11 psi, but, as everyone knows, it will not go that high unless you start beating it up. normally driving around town, i rarely see 5 psi.
At 11 psi the car doesnt detonate, and runs fine.
I worked all night last night doing my air-water kit, and it looks sweeet. I am going to compete in the heads-up class at Battle of the Imports in Bakersfield on Saturday, and i was invited to go to a dyno meet that is being held by Turbo Magazine on Friday. So i think im gonna be busy polishing parts this week.

This D17 engine is no different from most honda engines. Forged rods, forged crank, etc. Honda builds them pretty well from the factory.

My kit was the $2900 base kit with the alcohol injection option. I was running 9 psi to make the 13.6 sec pass.
In bakersfield, i will have my new turbo kit on the car. It is the entire upgraded system. If you guys want one similar to mine, it will run you about $4,700, maybe more.
Air-water intercooler
Stainless Equal length header
Polished Aluminum intercooler and piping
Polished Aluminum Water Tank
3" downpipe
polished Aluminum custom BOV
3" thick heat exchanger
and lots of other little gizmos!
