does anybody know how to DRIFT on our 7thgens??is it do-able??
anybody out there who's a pro-drifter?...i tried making the civic skid sideways via hand brake, but i dunno if that's drifting or jus simpling actin'a fool-loosin control. I understand it's harder to drift w/ fwd cars. but it's so fun, and i only hate it cuz i have no complete control. i would upload the quick video of me drifting/losing control?? but i don't know how to upload videos, i'm a beginer at 7thgencivic.com. Any help is welcome..

Rep Power: 0 Ya really can't "drift" in a FF. It's more like just sliding your back end around a corner. A proper drift can only be achieved in a RR drive vehicle.

Rep Power: 0 wow that was a pretty koo movie...okay, mines nothing like that...mine is just on a 5 lane st8 road w/ my car just zig zagging sliding sideways from left to right vice versa..BTW that ff car, was it all in the hand brake to get the car to take the corner that way? well w/ countersterring ofcourse..

Closest you're gonna get is to stiffen up the rear suspension as much as possible, and drop the rear tire pressure while adding some in the front. You can get the car to do a 4 wheel drift fairly controlled, but you can't hold it for very long since the wheels begin to slow down.... without the rear wheels being forced to turn, it's kinda hard to hold a drift.

Rep Power: 0 I never tried to do it in my car. Too afraid of maybe messing something up. I remember me and a buddy of mine tried to get my old dodge shadow to slide around a turn back in high school. It kept sliding through someones front yard, but i still kept on driving it and drove outta their yard back onto the road. It looked like we too that think mud slinging. Its funny to look back on, but that was scary as ****.
you people keep saying RR...wtf is RR? its FR or MR, no RR.
you cant to a traditional drift in a civic. ive learned how to power slide though. it takes practice, but be for warned that unless youre a mircale youll probably end up hitting something by losing control. ive hit a sign going 60 mph and some other **** but now i can power slide turns perfectly almost. the only times ive ever been able to turn it side ways like a traditional drift is when its wet.

FR = front engine, rear-wheel drive
FF = front engine, front-wheel drive
MR = mid-engine, rear-wheel drive
RR = rear engine, rear-wheel drive
etc
It's not a drift for a front-wheel drive car, it's called a powerslide. There was one guy on Honda-tech with a PY DC2R who pulled one off and made it last for 6 seconds straight. I have the picture somewhere...
powerslides are easy bud. just get going at a good speed in an open area (parking lot) then turn the wheel and pull the ebrake. youll then start going into a sideways motion in the apex and about halfway there countersteer to get out strait. or if u just want to do a 180 dont countersteer.
