I know Brian is everybody's friend, but I have to tell this story.
I called and ordered RS Limited Mase 18's, and was quoted 125 per wheel. I sent Brian $500 via paypal, and the next time we spoke he told me ADR raised the price by $60.00. He made me an offer to pay the extra $60.00 or request a refund.
Draw your own conclusions.
Personally, I thought it was unfair to have me pay a specific quote only to be told to pay more after payment has been sent, so I requested a full refund. After a day or so, I reconsidered and sent $560. to Brian via paypal, only to come home from work and find that I was refunded $543.18
This is the message I recieved:
"I talked to ADR they said that the wheels will fit however the calipers on your car will hit the spokes. As for the 543.15 Paypal deducted 3% of 560. on the previous trasnsaction i paid for the 3% cuz your from 7th gen but i cannot do it twice. "
I called Wheelmax, IM'ed ak, and called the Ontario factory that produces the wheels. All contacts deny these claims. I was told that these wheels work fine; no complications.
As for the refund, I would understand the logic if the consumer was at fault for a bad transaction. However, on both accounts, it was the business who failed to provide the proper information.
The customer should not pay the penalty for a business foul. The website clearly HAD a 7th gen civic (ak's ride) advertising these wheels for $135 which should amount to 540. This was up at the time of my inquiry.
Not only was I inconvenienced, but I also lost money. I've been trying to call the primary number only to recieve vmail. I've noticed that the site has pulled the ads off their site, so Im left with nothing but this complaint.
Hyperev is a poor, unproffessional site that has displayed fradulent business tactics with my transaction.
Upset consumer,
Michael Dasargo
PS
I ended up purchasing the wheels from Whalentire.com for $680.00

i pulled the ad down because i was unaware of the price change and wanted to avoid losing money, future complications and to do price adjustments. i called ADR and the rep that handles al lmy orders told me that it won't fit a Nissan 300ZX (Thats the car you wanted them for). If it was for a 7thgen civic then obviously ther woudln't a fitment problem because ak's ride has them. i don't know who you talked to though because everyone has their own knowledge on this.
The first transcation i waived the 3% for you plus i gave you 10 dollar acutal discount from $460. So wheni refunde dyou the money that was out of my own pocket to give you back the full.
But in conclusion.. i sent you 20 dollars via paypal for the mishap and i apoligize for the inconvenience. i wasn't aware of the refund option on paypal.
