dg motorsports??????
dg motorsports??????
I was wondering if anyone has bought anything from dg motorsports and if so what kind of quality was it? Maybe one of you guys from cali can hook me up, they are located in oceanside ca. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeah but
As we are all avid civic fans I assume you know who L.G. Garcia is? Well his yellow 96 hatch has a dg hood and it did not impress me. It looked like grade b carbon more than the grade a they advertise. I have a VIS hood and I recommend that hood to everyone and there momma!!!!!!!!
I have a DGmotorsports hood and the carbon piece covering the wires on the top of our motor. DG,contrary to the guy above< does make top quality stuff...the underside is totally finished and some of the best work i've seen. OEM fitment, so hood pins are unnecessary. They're not a 200-300 dollar hood, you'll pay 585-600...but you'll never have to worry about it popping open and the fitment is great
not trying to punk you out maverick but vis hoods come with an adjustable hood latch so you can adjust the tightness of the hood without moving the rubber bump stops. That is also another feature that I did not see on L.G.'s car, but please tell me if yours has that feature as well. If that company is so great I wonder why they only manufacture like 2 things for our cars. Most of it is for like maxda. Thanks for all the input everone!!!!!!
warpedcivic, read my post...i said oem fitment. as in, fits like your oem hood...who cares if it's adjustable via the hood or the rubber stops...the point is, it is a quality hood as is there other products...they have a wide variety of stuff...one of the owners has a mazda, thus the mazda stuff..but i didn't realize that the amount of "stuff" they carry for our cars is indicative of the quality. i say again, this is one of the best hoods i have ever seen and owned...so please ignore all these..."oh my friend has a dg hood and he's not impressed"...as for lj's hood i can't say...if you saw it personally, where was the dgmotorsports logo glassed into the hood? could it possibly not have been a dgm product? do they make a hood for a 96 civic? and don't worry, you didn't punk me out, but i'm sure your 11 posts have been quality stuff up til now.

DG is amazingly high quality. It is right up there with Fiber Images and Kaminari. VIS falls behind all of these other top quality companies.

1. If VIS has to make the hood adjustable then that means that they couldn't produce a product that was quality enough to fit naturally. Kaminari, DG, and Fiber Images all fit exactly to stock and no "adjustment" is needed like with your "great" VIS hood.
2. L.G.'s car is a 6thgen. We are talking about 7thgens. Newer product, different fitment, better quality.
3. DG is experts in CF. They would rather produce 2 high quality items than produce 10 mediocre quality items like VIS does.
4. Maybe most if DG products is for "Maxda"(I assume you mean "Mazda") because Mazda owners know what a quality product is. And there aren't know-it-alls like you running around making false claims about other companies that you don't know about.

Wow you guys really get torqued up over carbon!!!!!! All I was trying to find out was how good there product is. And L.G.'s emblem is in the bottom drivers side corner of the hood. Is that where DG puts there emblem? Also to comment on the reason why some hoods come with an adjustable hood latch is because there is no way to make 2 mass produced cars exactlly the same. So everyone just take two big deep breaths in then out and relax!!!!!!!! By the way about my 11 posts, well here's 12 I'm working on it OK?
Well, you have my 2 cents. DG is the sh*t. VIS royally sucks butt...just ask flyrice as he witnessed the shi**y fitment of my vis racing rear bumper as it flew off somewhere in charleston....if their hoods are anything they like their bodykits...omfg dude, spend your money somewhere else. if not dg, then try fiber images or kaminari
