BTW do you still have the Catz kit or did you leave it on the Civic?

I wish I had time to take the stuff off. I hadn't planned on trading till I got home, but the deal was too good to miss.
I do still have my FIPK minus the front heat shield bracket.
I also have the stock inake and the stock front grill, but dunno if anybody would want them.

I left the Catz lights on the car. If I had time I woulda taken them off, but, I liked the trade in and the price of the IS so no biggie. However the Catz would have been a good deal for somebody.
I don't know about a remodel, but it just came out here in 2001.
I traded my 2001 EX and $14000 difference for the IS. I think that's pretty much wholesale to wholesale diff. Essentially paid $25,000 for the Lexus total.
The car has 10,000 miles on it, and it's got the Lexus certified warranty.
I'm 63 years old, retired at age 59 after 35 years with Goodyear. I've had a lot of cars, from Mustangs to Big Mercuries to Pintos, and almost everything in between. Since I like to drive and travel some. I just got tired of the weak engine on long interstate trips with the Civic. I really did love it for everything else. But hey, I figured the IS is a good deal and I wanted something nice before I get too old to enjoy it.

When I was a little kid all I ever heard on the radio was WWII news. I had two uncles in the war. I had no idea what would be on the news after the war was over. It was a different time.
And heck, just paid my $30 for premium membship so I'll have to stay and get my money's worth, if I don't get booted.
The roof wing may live on. I sold it to a member up in New York State. Sold it to mndthegap1 I think he was going to paint a different color.
Now I don't know what to do about mods. I guess I could try to un-rice the Lexus. It's already got 17" aluminum wheels and 45 profile tires, rolled fenders, painted calipers, and those silly Altezza tail lights. I suppose I could get some LED washers and License plate bolts.

Idea. How about some "RS" stickers?

One more little item. I see the car has IRIDIUM SPARK PLUGS. So now I can tell that rotten HondaGuru that they come stock in Lexus. If they're good enough for Lexus they ought to be good enough for a Civic.

Also, you mentioned doing alot of highway driving and the IS doing better on teh highway than the Civic. That's definitely true, I used to cruise at 85 to 90 at times and the engine was smooth and strong. It wasn't straining at all. Unlike the Civic that seems to be straining at anything over 75.
Bleh, Civics are just that. At low speeds, the Civic is almost any other economy car. After 60 MPH, it's even more of an economy car.
I guess that's good for what it's worth but not for a good # of male drivArs.

The first car I ever had was a used '51 Plymouth. Nosed and decked it and put on aluminum "racing" wheel disks. Cost $250 and it wasn't much, but looked pretty good to me at the time. That was my college car.
