members with the kaminari rear

hey bad new for my vic today, i hit a trailer hitch and made about a 1 1/2 inch long dent on my back bumper...good news though, i'm ordering my kaminari full fascia kit monday...my question is...can i just put the rear lip over it and not worry about it...cuz the dent is RIGHT on the line where the rear flushes up...and from looking at other members rides...it looks like the rear would cover it...am i right??? or do i need to get that damn dent fixed.
