Check out my CAI
I managed to fit an generic eBay CAI on my automatic!!!
The intake looks to be an replica of the AEM CAI with 2.5in piping.
They said 5 speed only...ha!
What do you guys think?

I have the same intake, and when I compaired it side by side to the AEM I couldnt tell the difference, neither could my local performance shop. The only real difference is the price.

Do you need to modify anything to get it to fit?
The intake is made for a manual so the brackets on it are practically useless.
If you look at the piping near the battery you can see a zip tie holding it in place!
The battery isn't in its stock position.
The adapter sleeve needed to be cut shorter or the sensor doesn't reach the piping.
It was a bitch fitting the breather hose to the engine.
Take note that I did this without taking out any brackets attached to the tranny. It would have made the installation easier but the bolts would just not budge.
I'm going to reinstall the whole thing to fit better this weekend.
Ill take some pics and maybe write up a DIY if I have time.
Performance?
I have a K&N filter with this intake and I also installed a set of Denso Iridiums.
I don't feel like I lost any power but I also don't feel any real gains.
I still do ~2800rpm at 4th gear going 70 on the freeway, compared to when I just had the resonator chamber removed and would go at least 3000rpm at the same speed.
Pick up from 60 to 80mph on the freeway is the most noticeable difference for me.
I need to change my oil soon...maybe it'll be different then?

rpms at speed won't change
the RPMs you're at will never change for any given speed for a particular gear unless you change your transmission gears or final drive gear. It stays constant, no matter what kind of power increases you throw at the car; it's all determined by ratio. So whatever difference you noticed was in your head ;-)

Maybe I didn't word my thoughts correctly.
When you just have the resonator chamber out the engine sucks in alot of hot air and I guess you can say that it loses alot of low end power so it forces you to drive at a higher rpm to reach that speed.
Did that make sense?
