3rd place win!!!
For any one who doesn't think that our car can compete. Last weekend I got 3rd place at the Las Vegas Regions Autocross. you may think that a 3rd place win isn't all that special, but it is because the National Champ in my class moved to town and Im raceing against him.
That and out running cars that would normally whoop my *** on the drag strip is allways fun. that why I like Autocross, It rewards Driving skills over the type of car you have.

Your back end looks like it's sitting a little high
Anyways, congrats on the third place.
I might try autocross this year.

Glad there's another AutoXer here. Yeah, our cars are incredible in autocrosses. One of my friends rode with me through the course and he was amazed by how rigid the body stays and the lack of body roll. In the ~35ish second (top times) autocrosses that we do, I'm only about 2 or 3 seconds behind the VTEC prelude, 911 turbo, and the gutted Si hatch (The old style ones) that put down the big times. What's more is I ran those times stock. The only complaint I have about our cars is the stock tires. They're not very good at staying on the ground... But, other than that, 7th gens are nice on the courses.

as far as suspension, I have stock struts with H&R springs, and the Neuspeed Anti-sway bar bushings.
the *** end is High because I'm slamming on the brakes to make a turn there. You'll notice that My head is turned to see where Im going to end up after the turn.
The Axis Se7ens are nice wheels, but they are way to Heavy. 17' are 22lbs each not encluding rubber. I plan on getting a set of 15' rota Slipstreams for racing (12lbs each)
I run STS which is Street touring with Street tires. this class includes any car that can hold 4 or more people with an engin displacement of 3.2 or less. Suspesion can be modified, the engine can only have bolt on parts (no internals) there can be no weight reduction (no carbonfiber hoods ect.) Wheels are limited to 7' accrost Ie. 17x7 ok 17x7.5 not ok. Tires are limited to a maximum width of 225 and a minimum tread wear of 200 a better listing of STS rules can be found Here
As far as cars that competed agains me, the ones I can remember are a 3rd gen Civic (he got 2nd) a GTi VR6 (I out ran him by 4 sec.) a beat to s**t BMW 325, a civic Del Sol. There were 12 cars competing in my class that day.
I highly recomend autocrossing to everyone who drives, most people have no Idea as to how their car will handle in an emergency situation.
and if you can Try to start out in the STOCK classes, 7th gen civic would be in H Stock.

It sounds like you're pretty good, I've never been autocrossing, but I know it's the kind of thing I'd enjoy since I usually go for drives around the twisty bits where I live, my questions is, how expensive is it, and are the classes you have to take before you're allowed on the track, as well as, what type of gear is required. I suppose you could post a DIY autocross...

If you live in or around the las vegas area, your first autocross can be free. check this out. Our next event is on the 23rd, and after that there is a 2 day event on April, 5th and 6th.
If you can be there just look for #409 and that would be me.
