UK Tails + Light MOD...
So, you received your UK tails, but can't use your side marker light in the rear? No problem.. Check this out...
1.) BEFORE - Notice the raised gray square. It will NOT pry off!

2.) AFTER - Use a Dremel or similar tool to grind down the square. Go flush with the surrounding area, and you will reveal the socket cutout for U.S. use.

3.) With the light on - Look closely at your stock lights. There is a subtle difference in the side "triangle" as well. U.S. versions have a semi-clear rectangle, UK spec does not.

yep, that's one of the first mods I did to my UK tails
i find it odd that they don't use the sidemarker light in europe
oh, and if you're going to attempt this, make sure you have a very powerful vaccum or air compressor so you can get all the little shavings out of your taillights.

lol, well when i got the taillights it's one of the first things i noticed, so i figured it wouldn't hurt to experiment. i made a post about that when interest in the UK tails first sparked.. I was looking for the original post but it was sometime in June and the archive only goes back to july 1st. but still, great minds think alike

MEX: Right on!
Kinda crazy though! We do have some good ideas, it's just too funny that just as I think I have a cool idea, you seem to have already done it!

I never really liked the sidemarker on the tail light, so I'm just going to leave mine unplugged. But props to you for cutting it out
