The bastards got my car!
So ya, my car got towed tonight..... IN FRONT OF MY OWN DAMN HOUSE! Apparently its against the rules of my community to park on the street, even if its in front of your own house. Now we have 5 cars, with a 2 car garage... 2 cars are in the garage, 2 on the driveway, and mine is on the street. (I work nights, so im the last to get home) We've been living here for over a year now, and have never had a problem besides a few warnings, but wtf am I supposed to do with 5 cars.... Im in the shower and i hear my alarm go off, so i rush out and take a look out the window to see my baby getting loaded onto a truck. I threw some clothes and ran outside to see my car getting towed away with the alarm still goin off on the back of the truck. Great. So I get one of the previous warning papers and call up the company. $154 for me to get my car outta impound tomorrow. Oh man, I havent been so pissed in a LONG time. Not allowed to park in front of my own house.... give me a f**kin break.
On to the update:
SOOOO... I go down to the impound lot with my dad to go pick up my car. We get there and I get in line trying to see through the fence and find my baby. About 5 mins into standing there, the window closes and the lady accepting payments just walks out, and says she's going to lunch, "Ill be back in 45 mins." Needless to say I was furious, but my dad who was pacing in the street behind me says, "oh f**k no u didnt just do that!" He's a construction superintendant, and well versed in the street codes and violations on the job sites, so he looks around the street were we are all waiting and grins. He goes to his truck and gets a tape measure and proceeds to make measurements of the street. Now keep in mind this is the street where all the employee cars are parked. After a few measurements the grin on his face gets bigger and he pulls out his cell phone. "Hello sheriff, ya we have some parking violations and street code violations over here, u wanna come take a look?" So about 20 mins pass and the sheriff comes down, takes a look, and converses with my dad. Now the sheriff gets on his phone and makes a few calls. Within 15 mins a set of tow trucks come and start lining up to tow away all the employee cars. At this point im hysterical and everybody else in line is showering my dad in praise. So in the end I had to pay $214 to get my car out, but it was well worth it to see 5 employees cars towed. Lets see how those boys like it on the receiving end. Rep Power: 0 I dont get it, i never race up the street or anything. And when im coming in at night, i give it a quick burst then pop in the clutch and go down the street silently. Prolly the *** with the mustang GT across the street, i was laughin at him when i overheard him outside that he had to get a new motor because he would redline it every morning on a cold engine.

talk to the neighbors about it and see if they have a problem with the rule too. the association should be able to do something about it.. if enough people care..

Rep Power: 0 In my town back at home we'renot allowed (by police law) to park on the street past 2am. You get tickted and I'm sure eventually towed. BUT if you call the non-emergency number and say you'll have a car parked on the street, give them your address, the car make, model, color and plate numbers they'll let it slide for as many days as you ask for.
What are people in your area supposed to do if they get their driveways redone?? Or have guests over for a holiday dinner?? I find it hard to believe there's no parking on the street at all... I bet it's just over nite. Call the police dpt to find out for sure. And if it's no parking at all, demand that the police or your subdivision put up signs notifying people.

Rep Power: 0 Well i gotta wait for somebody to get home to drive me to San Marcos to the impound. I still got the lex in the garage so if i need to go anywhere i can leave, but my wallet and ID is in my civic....
