Good Idea/Deal or not?

A few months back I had my windows tinted on my coupe. I got the 35% platinum. Its very reflective and looks good especially at dusk and on overcast days. The only problem is that on extremely sunny days you can see straight through the tint. I spoke to the guys at the shop that did the tinting for me about what could be done to darken them up. They said that they could put a layer of 35% charcoal tint over the platinum, and this would darken it up to about 20% and be extremely reflective. They said that they would only charge me $115 for the job. Is it a good idea to double layer the tint though?

i was told by many shops that double tinting the windows could cause bubbling VERY easily....and it was not a very smart idea
i have 35% tint too and want 20%, but i was not going to pay $100 for them to take it off, and another 130 to put 20% tint on..
but its your choice, i know you can do it, just dont know how well it will turn out...

Yeah, I know. But I'm just not really happy with the darkness. If I have the tint taken off and redone darker than it is just going to be more expensive and more trouble. I would really like to have my windows darker.

The shop warranties all the work they do. If it bubbles or anything like that then they fix it at their own cost.

2k2civicRAY is an unknown quantity at this point
I have the same tint. On really sunny days you can tell your window's have something on them, but you can still see through it. But i never thought about puting another layer over it. If the shop will waranty everything then do it. I might call the shop I got mine done at when I have some more money. I'd say go for it.

If its got a warranty, then I don't see why not. But try to talk them down a little.

I dont know about problems, but I can tell you know it looks sweet as hell.

My bro has a 96 Suburban. They come with a factory mirror tint, but he wanted more. So he got the limo tint in the back, and lemme tell you, it looks really good. If you go with a limo tint like he did, u cant see through the back if you try (from the outside) From far away it looks really good too.

I would def. suggest it.

Thanks guys, I think I will go for it. I'm gonna call the shop tomorrow and schedule an appointment. I'll let you know how it turns out.
