i think a kit would look awkward on a car that's not dropped (the degree of awkwardness depends on the kit i guess). dropping the car is probably one of the first mods you should invest in simply because it's one of the cheaper mods. a dropped car w/o a kit looks better than the other way around. drop, wheels, kit imo.

I agree...a drop without kit is ok...but a kit without a drop...mmmmmm I don't think it would look ok...that's just my opinion!

The only kit that would'nt look wierd would be the OEM. Why you ask, cause it's how they already come.

I have a the kaminari kit and my car is not lowered. At first I thought it was ok and wasnt planning on lowering it 'cause of the winter.

But now I dont care about winter. It is begging to be lowered so I am lowering it very soon.

So basically, if you plan to buy a kit you should also budget for some springs.

yeah i don't have a full kit (kaminari front lip and OEM rear) and am not sure if i should lower or not simply because of the fact that I live in rochester and get TONS AND TONS of snow every winter. we'll see how she looks when i get her back this week. but for those where weather isn't a factor, definately lower it.

for those who live in snowy areas...how about coilovers...or even better: air bags

I guess I have a different opinion. Personally, I think that it all depends on where you live and what kit you have. I live in NJ and we get some nasty weather in the winter, so that was the first problem for me when it came to lowering. My second problem was that when I put my kit on, I was already scraping the ground on driveways and stuff.....So with all that, I made the decision that my car looks fine without being lowered. Don't get me wrong, I would do it if my list of reasons of why not to lower it somehow went away, but I don't think it's a necessity at all.

See, my car doesn't look bad not being lowered...in person the wheel gap even looks smaller then it does in the picture:

Whats your reason for not lowering? I'm sure the kit would still look nice, perhaps a little awkward though.

IMO, a kit on ANY car w/o being lowered looks like

I dunno. . . SimplySLB's ride looks great with the kit she's got on there at stock ride height. You're right. . . really depends on the kit. My OEM would look fine without the drop, but DOES look BETTER with the drop. If, for some reason, I weren't able to drop it, I would simply look for a kit that looked right and maintained the ground clearance I needed.
