after my first failed attempt at DIY angel eyes on my stock headlights (*they melted inmy headlight housing and left nashty burn plastic and brown marks)
i got some new TYC black projectors from the eagles win against the Falcons. and i butchered them up to wire in the "hotwirez" enjoy!

Update Well, me and Hefe just finished maticously putting the lights back together and resealing them. And, because we are having such shitty weather, I won't be able to install them till Sunday. Don't worry, will have pics of the final step. ON THE CAR.

That looks really good. What did you use for the orange reflector again? I would have done that whole part in orange, but that looks good nonetheless.
Oh yeah, I had to reply 'cause Hefe commanded me to.

Looks good. Is that orange piece the original clear reflector? And does it still reflect good? In the pics it looks like there's no 'shine' to it at all.

Well, let's see if I can answer all these.
PbFoot: The chrome pieces I masked off, and the big Chrome piece with the Headlight was a seperate piece, so I just set it aside, it never got painted at all.
Grey: I used that clear piece underneath the Orange Reflector piece that people remove. Just popped that little piece off, masked it off, and went to Hobby Lobby and bought some Orange Spray Paint. Then clear coated it. I did'nt want to paint it all, cause I wanted as little Orange as possible. So from front on, you can't see any orange. Only from a side profile view will you see it.
Krepoort: Well, not sure how good it reflects if any. It's mainly just for show and for the cops. If you notice, the new Orange Reflector is underneath the blinker, so like I said, it's just for show.

Ooooo..I see how you did it now. The clear reflector is still there and the orange piece is just an 'add-on'. Good idea. Hope it looks good on the ride. Cant wait to see it.

:Udate: Well, with the help of Senior Hefe, I finally got my black housing lights on. However, I did kinda f**k up by not acquiring some Amber Turn signal bulbs first. I just thought I could find them at Pep Boys, but neh eh. Anywho, thankfully, Hefe had an extra set of Hyper White Turn Signals. What do you guys think, should I leave these bulbs or buy some Amber ones??? Well, are those pics I promised...
That's right boys and girls, that's a WRX. It's Hefe's roommates car. Drool.

That's right boys and girls, that's the WRX's engine bay. Drool.

Before

Ouch, bye bye bumper.

Left side new, right side old.

Both are on, just need to slap on that bumper.

Bumper back on, looking sweet.

Here's a close-up.

And here they are, in the dark, in the garage, with NO effects added in Photoshop.

Yep yep. Looks good dude... You better have amber turn signals though! Well, unless your state allows clear ones?
Fraga,
VERY NICE!!!! I like the way that turned out!!
I just did a "similar" project, but kept the chrome, chrome. I have a silver coupe, and don't really like the black headlights on the silver. But....Yours looks great!!
I decided to to paint the whole reflector orange though...I kinda like the look from the front with the little orange leg under the round parking light. Anyway, WELL DONE!!!

Pictures on car coming tomorrow. It's dark here!!

Thanks for the compliments guys. I like the way they came out.
Well, it's not a question of legality in Texas, cause you can have a Turn Signal emitting Orange, White, or Off White. So it's just a question of what would look better. An Amber bulb, or the Hyper White Bulb...

Fraga,
I like the WHITE in the turnsignal housing, but you know.......IMO a turn signal should be AMBER....I have my 7443 Titanium bulbs on backorder for mine-Looks chrome, lights Amber....Similar to the SilverVision bulbs that they do NOT make for our cars!!! That gives it a nice clean look. BTW, the more I look at your housing, the more I like it...It really looks good on the black car!! NICE!! Well.....yeah. They not only stuck back together with the stock Silicone, but we also used some Clear Silicone we got at Pep Boys to reseal them again. Kinda like Insurance. I think they are pretty well sealed, but we'll have to wait and see. They say it's going to rain Wednesday here, so we'll find out. Oh yeah, still wanting your opinions people on my blinker color
Should I use Amber bulbs or Blueish White Bulbs for my Blinkers???
