Got my CUSTOM INTAKE MANIFOLD
I finally got it. my car was done with monday but ive been busy with school and work. Its the focuz D16 manifold customed on to the 01 civic. It definately pulls harder Now. I could really tell the first two days because i havent had my car in so long but i cant really tell anymore because im driving it , but everyone of my friends that i took for rides could definately tell a diference. I will have pictures up Friday when i wash it. Next Mod is/was gonna be the type s swap , but I dont think im going to get it now because this guy down here is getting the type r swap and he'll prob be the first one so its kinda pointless to do the s swap b/c i wanted to be first one but hes getting R so summer i m prob gonna go turbo, i will be the first 01 civic ex with turbo down here hopefully. If you have any questions on the manifold ask away ill definately have pics friday though.

Oh I will definately show all the pics I can. The price was 600 dollars which is really good considering that they changed everything my throttle body is now mounted on the side and they had to lengthen al cables , wires lots of work took 2 days to do. They are the only place right now that does it, he said that hes had shops in dallas and some other places asking where they can get this, i think it was worth it , plus when im boosting the polished aluminum maniflod will prob hold the boost better and not heat up as much as the plastic would.

What kind of intake are you sporting now?
What about the throttle cable and A/C cables; how are they mounted?
What did they do to the D16 intake manifold to make it fit on the D17 head?
They had to extend all of the sensor wires for the throttle body, right?
Did they extend or shorten the tubes leading to the IAC valve; the ones that warm it up with coolant?
I can't wait for the pics! I'm curious as to how everything was modified... Although if I were to make an intake manifold for our cars I would keep the mounting position of the throttle body the same. That way all of the current intakes and what not would fit right up to the throttle body without any problem. I actually might end up making my own. We'll see though...

He is going to have his typr r civic done in march when his car is back from the shop getting painted and conversions.
But Grey thay had to lengthen everything they extended all the wires right. From what i understand is that the IAC contol is not there anymore ,so the only downfall u have to stay on the pedal when the car is real cold, the idle is so low when cold he is going to see if he can fix anything on Friday he is going to pplay with.
Intake- im still sporting the AEM they just cut it to fit and used a piece of the top section to fit on the throttle body because its now on the side. Thanks for the info on manifold about boost i thought it would be other way around, but how much boost whould the manifold be able to take.

Looks good.
Not much I can see of the throttle body, but it looks like all the wires and hoses were extended.
Plus I see a custom bracket that holds some of that stuff in place.
Don't you just hate winter?

Sorry Mugen i forgot , the check engine light is on b/c of the IAT sensor. Yes Grey i hate the damn winter my car is filthy and it is frigging cold as hell out here. You can definately tell improvements. there getting a dyno in the summer time so then i can get a dyno run, but till then dont know for sure.
a couple other questions.....did they just drill a new bolt pattern in the flange of the intake manifold? is the bolt pattern the same?
are they going to offer this as a kit? I know there is a how-to to block off those coolant lines to the TB. extending wires is cake. Did they modify your throttle cable bracket? or just make a complete new one? what is the TB size on the manifold?
sorry for some newbie question. Not up to date on some honda parts.

Good work
I told people serval times the d16 manifold won't work without a crap load of machining but they don't seem so care, "it's been done before" I don't think they understand how much work goes into things and that some 16 year old with there dad's drill isn't going to work.
The d16 kit won't work because of more things then the intake and exhaust manifold not fitting.
