Turbo project is finally done...pics
It's been a little over a month but I finally brought the car home from SKR Performance last night. It's all running beautifully at 5psi right now. Once I get cash again I'll put in an Apexi AVC-R boost controller to switch back and forth between 5psi to 8psi. As for the fuel system, it was converted to return style using a modified fuel rail with return line back to the tank, AEM fuel filter, B&M in tank fuel pump and puel pressure regulator, and the Vortech FMU was installed at the same time for the turbo. The turbo is a custom T3 ball bearing turbo from Garrett. It's custom made for the d17 so if you go with their turbo ask for the one they made for the 7th gen civic. SKR made the manifold and intercooler, and a Tial wastegate and blow off valve were installed. I used the Magnaflow exhaust and no cat to finish it all up. Well I think that's all the parts, hopefully I didn't miss anything. My hp estimation at the wheels right now is around RiceBurnerEX's, so I think it was 150-160whp. Very nice improvement over stock and defiently worth the money I spent. Well here's all the pics, it was kinda dark but I did my best.

Auto IS better for tubo because it shifts faster therefore you can keep your turbo from winding down and keep the power up. Downside of auto is Power loss in the transmission and in most cases it burns out faster/easier than manny. but........ahem.....level 10 makes everything A.O.K.

haha thanks guys. as far as the auto tranny, ive gotten more props on the street for having that actually. autos have their upsides and downsides to turbos, but so do 5 speeds. i wasnt gonna go spend an extra 5g's for about 5hp or whatever the difference is, if there is any. its holding the power fine since im at 5psi, but once i get the boost controller ill have a transmission cooler installed and that should keep the tranny from going. and plus once the car starts moving you dont even care that its an auto

A couple of things I noticed...
- Your turbo manifold is a 6th gen manifold modified to fit a 7th gen. Kinda ugly, but I guess it gets the job done.
- You're venting your exhaust gases from the wastegate straight into the atmosphere. That's not nice. No cat though, so not like it matters.
- One of the pipes gets really close to the turbo manifold and the radiator fans. Kinda icky and may got hotter than it should. Not good.
- Your "missing link" valve is missing. Hehe... Just a bunch of check valves... Kinda messy, but gets the job done. Probably cheaper than the missing link check valve, but not as pretty.
- Your hose clamp on your throttle body is kinda loose. I don't think that's the right size for the piping you have. I'de get that replaced with one that fits. The stainless steel clamp looks like it's about to come off. Not good.
- That one guage in the air vent is kinda weird lookin' IMO. Why didn't you go for a triple guage pod?
- Your blow off valve vents to atmosphere too, right? That works, but it throws off the MAP sensor and fuel curves slightly. You could gain a few horsepower by routing it back into the intake before the turbo.
I mean overall it's a working setup and you seem happy with it, so that's good. However, it's kinda mish-mash IMO. I would have done certain things a little differently. It came out of the shop relatively fast though, so that's good. Well, maybe bad too since I see these little imperfections. I'm glad to see more and more 7th gen turbo's though. Congratulations!

Man Grey and Mohawk seem to really mess with people at times. I guess if I had the knowledge that these guys have then I might be doing the same thing. IMO I think it looks good, and you ride is awsome. I just wish I had the money to get a custom turbo
maybe someday
maybe someday Dude your car looks great. Theirs nothing better than boostin
Anyways I am also from Jersey and I would love to check out your car one day. Are you doing any shows? Do you race it at all at E-Town. If so let me know. Once again congrats
